While thrifting, I often bring a lot of things home that need a little extra love. I don't really have a plan for them, so I set them aside until inspiration strikes. This $1 metal leaf dish was one of those finds. The metal leaf dish was dingy, scratched, and just asking for a makeover. As soon as I got my hands on Plaid's new Velvet Crush, I knew that that was what this leaf tray needed to bring it back to life! This Flocked Trinket Dish was so easy to create, and the velvety finish is so smooth, and - most importantly - stays in place!

When it comes to spooky reads, Edgar Allen Poe's one of the best. When I was thinking about what kind of Halloween decor to make this year, I decided to make something to pay homage to the master of macabre. This Raven "Nevermore" Wood Sign is inspired by Poe's poem, "The Raven", and was quite fun and simple to make using my Ikonart kit! One of my favorite scenes in Hocus Pocus is when our favorite witch trio is casting the black cat spell on Thackery Binx. It's just so mesmerizing, and we're always chanting along when it comes to that part of the movie. Because of our love of Hocus Pocus, I thought it would be fun to put the words of that iconic spell onto a piece of decor to put on display for Halloween.

Free Spectrespecs Cross Stitch Pattern

When I was younger, I made many attempts to complete a cross stitch project. Eventually, my floss would get tangled up or I would lose my space in the pattern and just give up. After working with Anchor Embroidery Floss Spools and loving it, I decided to give cross stitching another chance. I'm so glad I did!! Luna Lovegood (from Harry Potter) and her iconic Spectrespecs are my inspiration for this project, and I absolutely LOVE how it turned out. So much so, that I'm sharing the pattern here so you can make one for yourself!

One of my favorite quotes from the Harry Potter series is "Don't let the Muggles get you down." Ron Weasley's encouraging words to Harry have always stood out to me as a quote to live by. No matter how hard you try, there will always be "muggles" around who won't be able to see the magic inside you. Keep your head up and surround yourself with good friends (like Ron and Hermione) who see the truly magical wizard that you really are!!

I wanted to put this quote on display so that I could see it every day. By using my Ikonart kit, I was able to easily create a stencil to paint the quote onto a sign. It was so simple to make, and I absolutely love how it turned out!

Did you know that cut files can be used with more than a Cricut machine? It's true! This "Sip Sip Hooray" sign was made using a stencil, but the design was originally a cut file. It was so easy to make this sign using the Ikonart kit, and I love how it turned out. It will look fantastic in a kitchen near a drink station, or would be a fun piece of party decor displayed with ice-cold drinks on a hot summer day!
