Throw an awesome LEGO Minifigure Party with these simple tips and free printables!

Earlier this year, LEGO celebrated the 60th anniversary of their bricks with a handful of play sets, which we shared to go along with a LEGO Challenge Game. 2018 also marks 40th anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure! To celebrate the occasion, 16 new LEGO Minifigures were released in mystery bags on April 1. We decided to celebrate the occasion here at home by throwing a LEGO Minifigure Party with friends!

While "Pinterest-perfect" parties are the goal most of us strive to achieve, our budgets don't always agree with our party plans. I know I'm not the only one in this predicament, so I wanted to share some simple tips, FREE printables, and more about how we were able to throw an awesome party on a budget should you feel inspired to have your own LEGO Minifigure Party!

Throw an awesome LEGO Minifigure Party with these simple tips and free printables!

Officially called the Party Series, these new minifigures are dressed up in wild costumes! Each LEGO series set usually includes 16 minifigures, but this series is extra special because it includes the police officer minifigure that was the first ever created in 1978! You can find the LEGO Minifigures packaged in mystery bags available online or in stores for $3.99 each.

Want to see what we got in our 12 Party Series mystery bags? Watch the video my daughter made opening them all up to find out!

I started with my personal favorite, party favors, to begin my party prep. I created some free printable party favor bag toppers to attach to the top of the favor bags. Print out the toppers on regular copy paper, cut them out with a paper trimmer, and fold the toppers in half.

In each treat bag I added in one LEGO Minifigure mystery bag, and some adorable brick candy that your guests can build AND eat! After the bag has been filled, close the top of the bag and place the topper over the bag. Staple or tape the topper in place.

For a little more LEGO fun, I found these awesome mini popcorn boxes! The favor bags fit perfectly inside, and the box can hold any other goodies that your guests want to take home with them. I especially love how the favors looked on the party table and helped tie in the LEGO theme!

I embellished some chocolate and vanilla cupcakes with these fun Free Printable LEGO Cupcake Toppers adorned with LEGO minifigure heads. I cut them out easily with a 2" circle punch.

To place the toppers on the cupcakes with ease, I cut a paper straw into 1/4 and attached the pieces to the back of the cupcake toppers with tape. Stick the straw into the cupcakes, and just like that you've got LEGO-themed cupcakes!

For additional table decoration, we rounded up some of our favorite LEGO minifigures. Here in front of the decadent chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, we've got a Roman Gladiator, a Retro Spaceman, a Highwayman, and (my personal favorite) a Dance Instructor from Series 17!

My daughter got out her LEGO bricks and built this awesome napkin and utensil holder to put on our party table. It's VERY easy to build, and kids will be so proud to have one of their creations on display for all the guests to see!

My daughter built this little "cup" to hold markers so that the guests could find them easily. It's built the same way as the utensil holder, but smaller and taller! You could also keep this after the party to hold all of your pens and pencils on a desk!

Entertainment for party guests is one of the most important parts of the party. Not to worry, though. I've got you covered! This Free Printable Make a LEGO Minifigure activity is a ton of fun for kids of all ages. Print the page out and your guests can go wild customizing their own custom LEGO Minifigure!

Download and print Free Printable LEGO Minifigure Bingo to play with friends!

Unless you're new here, it's no secret that my family is obsessed with LEGO. This year marks the 40th anniversary of the LEGO Minifigure! To celebrate, I put together this Free Printable LEGO Minifigure Bingo with some of my favorite LEGO Minifigures for you to play at a party or just for fun!

Download and print Free Printable LEGO Minifigure Bingo to play at parties and just for fun!

LEGO Minifigure Bingo includes just a few of the minifigures that LEGO has released over the past 40 years, including the Hot Dog Man, Chicken Man, Yeti, and Cactus Girl! This printable bingo set includes ten bingo cards, so it's easy to print and use for parties. It's fun for every age to play, and the calling cards include the names of the minifigures in case you don't know who they are.

(Set includes 10 bingo cards and calling cards in a single PDF file)

Download and print Free Printable LEGO Minifigure Bingo to play at parties and just for fun!

The blank set works a little differently. You get one bingo card with empty spaces (except for the "free" spot). Then print and cut out the bingo pieces so you can assemble the bingo cards yourself. Just glue the pieces in place and you're ready to play!

This is a great option for little hands that want to be creative, or if you have a larger group of people and don't want multiple cards that are the same. The blank bingo set includes all the same characters as the full set, but you can create your own bingo card setup.

(Set includes one blank bingo card, bingo pieces, and calling cards in a single PDF file)

Game Instructions
1. Pick some kind of object to mark your squares (LEGO bricks, candy, glass gems, buttons, etc)
2. Give each player a bingo card and markers (or put your own card together with the blank set).
3. Have each player put a marker over the free space.
4. Have one person choose a calling card and say it out loud. Each player will cover that item on their card with a marker.
5. Once a player has 5 squares covered in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), call out "BINGO!" and win the game!

Some things you should know before downloading:
*Artsy-Fartsy Mama printables are for PERSONAL USE ONLY (classroom, home, libraries, etc).
*You may NOT modify, re-sell, redistribute, or claim the design as your own.
*Please do not remove the credits/watermarks.
*If you'd like to share this printable, credit must be given to Artsy-Fartsy Mama & linked back to this post.

To lengthen the life of the prints, I would recommend printing the bingo cards and calling cards on cardstock. All sets are 8.5x11 inches and combined in a single PDF format.

Throw a magical Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party with these simple tips and free printables!

My daughter and I just discovered the new Nick Jr. series, Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and decided to invite some friends over to have a little Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party! From the makers of Peppa PigBen & Holly's Little Kingdom is an adorable show that shares adventures about the friendship between the fairy princess Holly and Ben Elf in the magical Kingdom of elves and fairies. Each episode shares tales of perseverance, friendship, and magical fun that kids of all ages are sure to love!

While "Pinterest-perfect" parties are the goal most of us strive to achieve, our budgets don't always agree with our party plans. I know I'm not the only one in this predicament, so I wanted to share some simple tips, FREE printables, and more about how we were able to throw a magical party on a budget should you feel inspired to have your own Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party!

Make a magical wand like Fairy Princess Holly from Nick Jr.'s Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom!

Entertainment for party guests is one of the most important parts of the party. Not to worry, though. I've got you covered! The fairy princess Holly always has her trusty wand in hand, and now your guests can have one, too. This is a simple craft for kids with minimal mess.

Supplies needed:
Holly's Wand Printable (download)
Markers, Crayons, or Colored Pencils
Scissors
Tape or Glue

Step 1: Color both the wand "star" and the face with markers, crayons, or colored pencils.

Step 2: Cut the pieces out with scissors. Smaller children will need help with this step!

Make a magical wand like Fairy Princess Holly from Nick Jr.'s Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom!

Step 3: Use glue or tape (I love using a tape runner) to attach the face piece to the center of the "star" piece.

Step 4: Peel and stick adhesive-backed acrylic gems to the wand face. You could also embellish with glitter glue, stickers, or sequins!

Make a magical wand like Fairy Princess Holly from Nick Jr.'s Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom!

Step 5: Add some tape or glue to the top end of a craft stick. Press it on the back of the wand face.

Step 6: Embellish the wand "handle" with more gems.

Make a magical wand like Fairy Princess Holly from Nick Jr.'s Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom!

Now your guests can have fun creating magic like Holly!! We whipped up some wands to start the party, then watched a few episodes of Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom. The kids loved mimicking Holly and the silly magic spells with their own wands.

Don't forget to download and print out Free Printable Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Bingo to play with friends. It's a fun way to add some Ben & Holly magic to your party! When it comes to party prep, I like to keep things simple. We found some applesauce cups on sale, and decided to dress them up to look like Gaston, the ladybird from the show. All you have to do is print out the Gaston Printable Labels and cut them out with a 3" circle punch or scissors.

Throw a magical Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party with these simple tips and free printables!

Add some tape to the back of the labels and attach them to the top of the applesauce cups. Now you've got some snacks that fit your party theme with minimal work!

Throw a magical Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party with these simple tips and free printables!

Place the Gaston applesauces on the table to be easily accessible to your guests. We also added a glass cup as a place to hold the magic wands while they weren't being used. This helped to keep wands from getting stepped on, spilled on, or lost throughout the party.

Throw a magical Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party with these simple tips and free printables!

To keep our guests hydrated, we served Fairy Juice (pink lemonade) in blue cups that resemble Ben's hat. To make the hats, I simply cut some leaf shapes out of green paper and attached them to blue paper cups with tape. We also placed some Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom figures on our table for more magical fairy fun!

Throw a magical Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party with these simple tips and free printables!

Our table centerpiece was some vanilla cupcakes with yellow frosting and blue sprinkles on a DIY cake stand. I embellished the cupcakes with some Free Printable Cupcake Toppers cut out with a 2" circle punch with a paper straw (cut into 1/4) taped to the back. I also added the adorable twin fairy figures, Daisy and Poppy, to the plate as well. Such a colorful and fun addition to our party table!

Throw a magical Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom Party with these simple tips and free printables!

Last, but certainly not least are our Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom party favors. We filled up some colorful paper treat sacks with gummy butterflies and pretzels as a thank you to our guests for coming to our party. Then, I printed out some more cupcake toppers and taped them to the sacks to keep them closed.

Enjoy some delicious Trolls "Princess Poppy" Chow while binge-watching Trolls on Netflix!

If you love Trolls like we do, then we've got some exciting news for you! Trolls-mania is back with this year with the exciting launch of the Netflix series from DreamWorks Animation, “Trolls: the Beat Goes On”! New to the Trolls family is Amanda Leighton (This is Us) and Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect) who are voicing and singing as Poppy and Branch in the series.

Before we get to the delicious recipe, I wanted to share a few of my daughter's favorite sets from Hasbro’s latest DreamWorks Trolls products. Kids will love playing with their favorite Trolls friends as they watch alongside the series!

DreamWorks Trolls Camp Critter Pod

Everything is cupcakes and rainbows at the DreamWorks Trolls Camp Critter Pod! As soon as you unlock the pod, the petals "bloom" open revealing the playset. Kids can send critter friends down the critter slide, take them for a spin on the merry-go-round, wash them in the bath or hang out with them on the swing!

The set also comes with a totally fabulous Trolls Poppy figure that's about 5-inches from hair to toe. She comes complete with a ukulele, headband, cupcake and 8 critter friends to hide - some even glow in the dark!

DreamWorks Trolls Camp Critter Pod!

When you're done playing, the pod closes up and keeps all of the pieces inside. The Camp Critter Pod can also attach to DreamWorks Trolls Pod'ular Tree.

Guy Diamond is one of my daughter's favorite characters. This glitterific character throws the best sparkly dance parties at the DreamWorks Trolls Disco Critter Pod! Send Guy rolling from party to party when you plug him onto the skitterboard, or plug him onto the pod dance floor and spin the wheel to make him boogie! Kids can also fit critters inside the mini pod, hook them onto the playset, and spin them like a disco ball!

This set comes with a 5-inch DreamWorks Trolls Guy Diamond figure and 4 glitter critter friends to hide, hang and party with. You can also clip the critters and charm accessory to the pod or in Guy's hair for extra glam! This pod can also attach to DreamWorks Trolls Pod'ular Tree.

Last, but certainly not least - Put your hair in the air for DreamWorks Trolls Gia Grooves and Troll Baby! Now that the Troll Village and Bergen Town are living in perfect harmony, it's a party full of spectacular celebrations every day! This glittery doll comes with an adorable Troll Baby that you can clip and style into Gia Grooves's hair so she can take it anywhere. Gia is approximately 9-inches tall from hair to toe and includes a disco critter-shaped comb for extra styling. She also comes with extra-fashionable earrings and dress.

  1. Add powdered sugar and cake mix into a large Ziploc bag and shake to combine. Set aside.
  2. Pour one cup of Chex cereal into a mixing bowl.
  3. Melt 1 cup of pink candy melts in the microwave for 1 minute, then in 30 second increments until completely melted.
  4. Pour the candy melt over the Chex and use a spatula to stir carefully until all of the cereal is coated.
  5. Pour the coated cereal into the Ziploc bag and shake it around to coat the cereal in the powder mixture.
  6. Wash out your mixing bowl and spatula to remove the pink candy melt. Repeat the cereal coating process with blue candy melts. (The different colors aren't totally noticeable, but it's a fun detail.)
  7. Pour the blue-coated cereal into the bag and shake to coat in the powder mixture with the pink cereal.
  8. Remove the cereal from the powder and lay it out on a pan or cookie sheet.
  9. Melt a few more candy melts (any color) and drizzle it over the cereal.
  10. Immediately add colorful sprinkles! Sugar sprinkles will look glittery - just how Poppy would want it!

*If you want more Poppy Chow mix, simply add 1 cup of cereal and 1 cup melted candy melts in the color of your choice. Mix together more sugar & cake mix if necessary.
