Let's be honest - staying at home with kids is tough! Some of us have been doing it day-in and day-out for years, while others are new to it thanks to closing of schools and/or work. This cut file is made for all of the moms out there - yes, you, the SLAY at home moms. Remember that we're in this together, and you are doing a great job at home (even when you don't think you are).

Glitter your hearts out with these easy to make DIY Glitter Flower Pots!

DIY Glitter Flower Pots

There's so many creative ways to paint a planter, like nail polish marbling or painting with spray paint. Here's one more way to make a plain flower pot cheerful and glamorous. These DIY Glitter Flower Pots are easy to make, and most importantly - the glitter application isn't a nightmare! You can create these flower pots to add some colorful sparkle to your home, or give them out for Mother's Day.

Supplies:

DIY Glitter Flower Pots

First, you need a flower pot that you can paint. I am really loving these ceramic flower pots from Oriental Trading. The terra cotta pots I used for the Gold Ombre Planters are also great, but I really like how these ones are already white, ready to paint, and have a glossy coat on the inside.

DIY Glitter Flower Pots

Paint a coat of FolkArt Color Shift Metallic Paint on the outside of the pot. For this pot, I used Purple Flash. My favorite thing about these paints is the metallic luster that shifts in changing light! Let the paint dry completely, then add another coat if you need more coverage.

DIY Glitter Flower Pots

After the paint has dried, you can add some sparkle! Glitterific paint is my new favorite!! It's filled with multiple-sized glitter particles suspended in a crystal clear base to makes the glitter application completely mess-free. No dumping glitter over paper and then spilling it all over the floor. One coat around the bottom of the flower pot and I was done! Since the base dries clear and glossy, you don't need to add an additional sealer. Plus, the glitter is held in place - even when you touch it!

DIY Glitter Flower Pots

Once the Glitterific paint has dried, the flower pot is complete! You can create different looks depending on the paint color combinations you use. For this flower pot, the base is Purple Flash with Blue Moon.

This gorgeous Glitter Flower Pot is Color Shift in Aqua Flash with Glitterific in Aqua.

The last Glitter Flower Pot is Color Shift in Pink Flash with Glitterific in Princess.

DIY Glitter Flower Pots

Since I can't keep a plant alive (I consider my home a hospice for plants), FloraCraft succulent picks look amazing in the DIY Glitter Flower Pots! After you choose a succulent pick (there are a ton to choose from), add a piece of floral foam into the pot and arrange the picks. Pour in some small river rocks, and the glitter flower pots are ready to put on display!

These DIY Glitter Flower Pots are so much fun to make, and are so easy! They would be a fun craft to do with the girls, or get your kids in on the action and let them paint their own.

Mother's Day Bottle Cap Keychains are a creative craft for kids to make an awesome, custom keychain moms, aunts, and grandmothers are sure to love!

As a mom, I think some of the best gifts you can receive are ones that kids make especially for you. With a little help, my daughter made me this sweet bottle cap keychain that I can take everywhere with me. These keychains are so simple and quick to make, and kids of all ages will have a ton of fun creating something special with their artwork.

Mother's Day Bottle Cap Keychains are a creative craft for kids to make an awesome, custom keychain moms, aunts, and grandmothers are sure to love!

Supplies Needed:
Flat Bottle Cap
Epoxy Sticker
Key Chain Ring
1 inch (2.54 cm) Circle Craft Punch
Strong, Clear Glue (super glue, E6000, Beacon Mixed Media)
Ultra Fine Marker Pens
Cardstock

Punch some 1 inch circles out of white cardstock using the circle craft punch. Cut more than you'll need. Once kids get started making different designs, they want to keep making more, or sometimes they make mistakes and just want to start over.

Now, for the fun part! Grab some ultra fine marker pens in a variety of colors. It doesn't matter what brand you use. You can see that we used a few different kinds! Encourage kids to draw things they think the recipient will love. Things like hearts, self-portraits, words or phrases are a great place to start!

After kids are done drawing, lay out all the designs they created and choose the one to make into a keychain. This is probably the hardest part of the entire process!! So many cute ones to choose from!

Once they have chosen an image, it's time to put the bottle cap keychain together. You'll need the drawing, bottle cap, epoxy sticker, a keychain ring, and some strong glue.

Carefully place the epoxy sticker over the drawing. Be careful not to touch the back of the sticker before you stick it to the paper, otherwise you'll get fingerprints that show through on the image. Use a vinyl scraper tool or credit card and rub the back of the paper to get any air bubbles out.

Add a drop of glue on the bottle cap and then place the epoxied image into the bottle cap. Gently press it down and let dry for a few hours (check glue packaging for drying time).

Once the glue has dried, the keychain is ready to use! I absolutely love my keychain and think it's such a fun and creative gift idea from kids for any occasion, especially Mother's Day!

Free Printable Mother's Day Candy Bar Wrapper

Give mom a chocolate bouquet of flowers by putting together this sweet Free Printable Mother's Day Candy Bar Wrapper!

Free Printable Mother's Day Candy Bar Wrapper with Questionnaire at artsyfartsymama.com

Mother's Day is almost here, and I've got an adorable gift that kids can make for their moms and grandmothers! This is a fun activity for dads to make with the kids, or put these together in classrooms and other group activities.

Like my Free Printable Father's Day Candy Bar Wrapper, this printable is easy to assemble and includes a sweet questionnaire that is sure to bring a smile to mom's face. Plus, it also comes with chocolate - so that's always a win when it comes to gifts!!

Free Printable Mother's Day Candy Bar Wrapper with Questionnaire at artsyfartsymama.com

Let's get to the tutorial!

First, print out the Mother's Day Candy Bar Wrappers and cut with scissors or a paper cutter. I would recommend printing out the flowered candy bar wrapper on copy paper, and the outer wrapper (with the questionnaire) on cardstock.

Have the kids fill out the questionnaire with their answers about mom, with things like "her favorite food is", "for fun we like to", and of course "I love her because". This is my favorite part of this gift. Their answers are so funny sometimes!!

Use the bone folder and a ruler to score the fold lines at the center of the wrapper. Carefully fold along the lines and use your fingernail or bone folder to press the folds.

With the wrapper now folded, add a piece of clear tape on each side to create a pocket to hold the candy bar. The folded edge at the bottom just gives the candy bar a bit of wiggle room so you don't end up with weird creases in the paper.

Speaking of candy bars, you will need to choose a candy bar that is flat and similar size to Hershey or Crunch bars. Candy bars that are larger or bulkier most likely won't fit inside the outer wrapper, and the flower candy bar wrapper won't be able to wrap around them. There are lots of options out there that will fit though, so there's definitely something out there that your mom will love!

Add a couple of lines of tape runner on the back of the candy bar. Center the flowers on the front of the candy bar and carefully fold each side of the wrapper around to the back and press in place. You could also wrap the candy bar and use clear tape if you don't have a tape runner.

Slide the candy bar into the outer wrapper with the flowers facing out. Now you've got a sweet bouquet of flowers with the cutest personalized message on the back!

By the way, I've also included a questionnaire wrapper that you can fill out and give to Grandma in the printable download!

You Are Loved Blocks: perfect for Mother's Day, Teacher Appreciation, or for yourself!

I love creating projects out of wood. These blocks are such a quick and simple craft that anyone can do - even the kids can help! The vinyl might be a little tricky for the smaller kids, but with a little help, it is certainly doable. I already had all the supplies, so this project literally cost me nothing. If you were to buy everything, I would think you'd spend less than $10.
