Add extra thrills to your party with this Free Printable Five Nights at Freddy's Bingo game!
To say daughter is obsessed with Five Nights at Freddy's is an understatement. She's been playing the video games for years, and has been counting down the days until the FNAF movie was released. If you're looking for a fun party game, this Free Printable Five Nights at Freddy's Bingo is just the thing! There's very little prep involved, and bingo is entertaining for kids of all ages! It's also a great activity for movie nights, game nights, playing with friends, and more!
One of our favorite ways to spend time together as a family is having movie nights at home, complete with snacks and activities. My daughter has been begging to see Dolittle DVD, so we surprised her with a movie night packed with animal fun! To go along with the animal theme, be sure to whip up some Animal Cracker Funfetti Dip and download my Free Printable Animal Bingo to play!
When a new movie comes out, my family enjoys spending time together having a movie night filled with snacks, activities, and of course, watching the movie together. The How to Train Your Dragon series has been one of our favorites, and after seeing this last movie, I'll admit it's a little bittersweet seeing the series come to an end. To celebrate the DVD release of How to Train Your Dragon 3, we decided to make some How to Train Your Dragon Shrink Charms that can be made while watching the movie at home!

Have a Peter Rabbit Movie Night, including Free Printable Popcorn Boxes and a Garden Popcorn recipe!
One of our favorite ways to spend time together is with family movie nights. My daughter has been begging to see Peter Rabbit, and so we surprised her with a fun movie night this last weekend. It's such a fun and family-friendly movie that everyone is sure to love. We had a wonderful time watching the movie and making some Peter Rabbit Garden Popcorn!
This post is sponsored in partnership with Paramount Pictures. As always, all opinions are my own.
When my daughter first got interested in acting, she learned all about the Shakespeare classics. One of her favorite plays was Romeo and Juliet and loves the movie Gnomeo & Juliet. It is now one of our favorite movies that we watch together as a family. A sequel to Gnomeo & Juliet has been announced, and we can't wait! Sherlock Gnomes is sure to be another family favorite, and it's in theaters March 23rd.
To celebrate our excitement for the movie, I wanted to make some handmade wooden peg dolls inspired by the Sherlock Gnomes characters. While it can take some time and effort, peg dolls are one of my favorite things to make. When I see how my daughter loves playing with every set I've made over the years, it makes every moment of work worth it.
After a string of garden gnome disappearances in London, Gnomeo & Juliet look to legendary detective Sherlock Gnomes to solve the case of their missing friends and family. This action-packed sequel to Gnomeo & Juliet features the voices of returning cast James McAvoy, Emily Blunt, Michael Caine, Maggie Smith, Stephen Merchant and Ozzy Osbourne, plus Johnny Depp as Sherlock Gnomes, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Watson, and Mary J. Blige as Irene.
To make your own set of Sherlock Gnomes Peg Dolls, you'll need to start with these supplies:
• Wooden peg dolls: 4 large, 3 medium, 3 small
• Wooden box with hinges - mine measures about 6x4x2
Have some images of the characters you want to make on hand to refer to. Since the dolls are so small, I simplify the characters by taking out the smaller details (nose, mouth, etc), but keep the main details (clothing, hair color, etc). Use a sharp pencil (I prefer a mechanical pencil) and lightly draw the simplified characters on the wooden peg dolls.
After everything has been drawn onto the peg dolls, the next step is to paint them. When it comes to paint, I recommend using Americana acrylic paints. Good quality acrylic paints like these will have brighter colors, and you'll only need 1 or 2 coats, which matters when you're working on a project like this. You'll also need a few small paint brushes in different sizes and styles to paint details on the peg dolls.
Getting started is the hardest part of making peg dolls. To make it a little easier, I choose one color and paint all of the parts on different dolls. This will also save you on time since you won't need to wash your brushes in between and get the paint out again later!
A few tips:
* If the color seems a little dull or you can see the wood grain through it, add another coat. Just make sure that the first coat of paint is dry before you add another.
* For the eyes, dip the non-brush end of a small brush into some paint and dab once or twice on a piece of scrap paper. Then carefully dab the brush on the eye pencil marks on the peg doll.
* You can use a thin Sharpie marker to add on thin details that a brush wouldn't be able to do (glasses, eyebrows, clothing details).
* After you're done painting, use an eraser over the peg dolls to remove any pencil left behind.
After all of the dolls have been painted, spray a coat of clear spray paint over the peg dolls to give them a glossy finish and to protect the paint. I painted a few coats - but make sure each coat is completely dry before adding another.
While going through my stash, I found some small wooden knobs. I painted the tops red and blue, the bottoms white and added spots to make them look like mushrooms. Gnomes and mushrooms are perfect together! Be sure to paint a coat or two of glossy spray paint over the mushrooms as well.
In the movie, Watson wears a bowler hat. I painted a small wooden cap to match his hat brim and suit. I finished it off with spray paint, then glued it to the top of his head with a strong craft glue.
The hats for the gnomes are a little more complex, so I decided to mold them by hand with clay. These were both a success and a fail, and I'll tell you why...
I used a polymer clay that was the perfect red color to match the gnomes. After warming a small ball of clay in my hands, I was able to mold the clay to the shape I wanted and they fit the gnomes perfectly. This is the success!!
A thing to know about polymer clay is that it has to be baked to permanently set the shape. I thought that since the peg dolls had a glossy finish, that the clay would come right off. Not so much. I carefully used a fingernail to loosen the hats around the heads and I completely ruined one of them. I remade the hat and put the peg dolls in the freezer for about 30 minutes. This stiffened the clay and made it a little easier to work with, but they put up a fight. I was finally able to remove the hats after using a fingernail and slowly working them off. I baked them according to package directions, and everything turned out okay in the end.
What I would have done different is tried an air dry clay instead. That way, I could have made the hats and let the clay set on the peg dolls. Then you can just paint them and be done! I'll try it next time and keep you updated.
After being baked, I let the clay hats cool completely. I added a drop of strong craft glue to the inside of the hats and attached them to each of the peg dolls. I repeated the same process for the characters with blue hats.
After the glue dried, I sprayed one last coat of clear spray paint to the hats to give them a glossy finish. The final step is to line up all the peg dolls and admire your work. They make me smile every time I look at them!
The wooden box will serve a few purposes - it's a great way to keep your peg dolls in one place and stay in great condition. It's also going to be a fun play space for the peg dolls!
Measure the inside of the box and cut a piece of green felt to fit. Use a glue gun to attach the felt to the bottom. Cut more green pieces of felt to cover the other four sides of the box and attach them with glue.
I wanted to make the box look like the gnome garden, so I cut out some little flowers and a cute pond out of felt. I also cut a rectangle of blue felt to add to the top of the box for the sky. Get creative and add as much or as little as you want!
You can also paint the outside of the box to look however you want. My daughter wanted to keep the wood look, so we just painted a thin coat of sealant on the outside to keep it looking nice.
Now that the box is complete, it's time to play! Take the gnomes in and out of the box to re-enact scenes from the movie - like this one from the trailer where one of the goons gets stepped on in the garden!
After the kids are done playing, lay all of the peg dolls inside the box. The felt will keep them from getting scratched up, and you can easily find all of the dolls again the next time you want to play.
This project has made us even more excited to see Sherlock Gnomes on March 23rd. Until then, we are going to be having a ton of adventures of our own, and probably re-enacting some of the scenes from Gnomeo & Juliet!

My daughter has always been a My Little Pony fan. The characters are just adorable! We went to see the new film, My Little Pony: The Movie. Needless to say, my daughter LOVED it and is counting down the days until we bring it home to watch it non-stop! For those of you who also have a My Little Pony fanatic at home, here's a Free Printable My Little Pony: The Movie Bingo for you to play for fun or at a movie party! Kids everywhere are going to love these Captain Underpants Movie Night Ideas with Free Printables!
My daughter is a bookworm and really enjoys reading the Captain Underpants series. When we first heard about Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, we couldn't wait to see it. We went to the local drive-in to see it a few months ago and absolutely loved it! We are counting down the days until we own it on DVD (September 12th!) and have a fun movie night at home!
Thanks to Hasbro for the toys shared in this post. All opinions are my own.
Did you know that there's a new My Little Pony Equestria Girls movie coming to Netflix on October 1st? It's called My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree and it looks like such a fun adventure! Here's the official trailer to give you an idea of what the storyline is about:
My daughter couldn't be more excited about the new movie, so we decided to invite a few of her friends over for a My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree Movie Night! The movie night is going to be a lot of fun and I'm excited to share our ideas and a FREE printable with you. There's also an awesome giveaway at the end of this post, so be sure to enter to win!
After you've made your basic plans, the most important step to any party is to get invitations sent out! I've created some free printable My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree movie night invitations that you are welcome to use for your own party. Print on cardstock, then fill in the information. Voila!!
Some things you should know before downloading:
*Artsy-Fartsy Mama printables are for PERSONAL USE ONLY.

Since the movie is based in "Camp Everfree", I decided to bring a camping theme into the movie night. The girls will get to build a fort, and have blankets and pillows to snuggle in as they watch the movie on Netflix. Along with popcorn, our party guests will also get to create some colorful Rainbow Magic S'mores!!
Getting the marshmallows to be different colors is easy peasy. In a small bowl, pour just enough water to cover half a marshmallow. Add in a generous amount of liquid or gel food coloring to the water and mix well. BTW - I really REALLY love how vibrant the neon set of food coloring is!!
Obviously, mix each color in a separate bowl and create as many or as few colors as you'd like. Grab a marshmallow and carefully dunk it into one of the colors and immediately pull it out and set it color-side up on a plate. Once it's dry, dip the other end into another color! If you don't want to wait for it to dry, you can also poke a toothpick into the wet end and dip it into the other color. I would recommend only dipping it into two different colors so you don't make the marshmallows too mushy.
Let the marshmallows dry completely before turning them into s'mores! They will just be a sticky, gooey mess (not in a good way) otherwise. So, once they've dried, you can dump those marshmallows onto a plate to be transformed into a roasty, toasty s'more.
To make things easier, I grabbed some fudge striped cookies to hold the marshmallows instead of the traditional graham crackers and chocolate pieces. The s'mores are colorfully delicious and are sure to be a hit at our My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree movie night!
Last, but not least, we are also going to have some play time with some My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree dolls including Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy who want to put their best fashion forward at Camp Everfree! Each doll comes with a boho chic outfit, shoes, and a necklace that can be scanned to unlock more fun in the Hasbro My Little Pony Equestria Girls app like clothing, games or coins.
The dolls are available at most major toy retailers nationwide and on HasbroToyShop.com.
I hope you've gotten as excited as we are about the new My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend of Everfree movie coming to Netflix on October 1st! These dolls are adorable and the girls are going to have a blast playing with them this weekend!

One of our favorite movies we saw this summer was Illumination Entertainment's Minions movie. It's finally out on DVD, so I decided to make some minions-inspired donuts to eat at our family Minions movie night!
While I was at Target I was able to pick up all the ingredients I needed to bake some Minions Donuts! I saved money by purchasing the Market Pantry brand of ingredients like chocolate chips, sour cream, and other baking supplies.
Minions Movie Night Donuts
Ingredients:
2 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 stick butter, cold and cubed
2 eggs
1 cup sour cream
2 tsp vanilla
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, baking soda, nutmeg. Add butter and cut it in with a fork or pastry cutter.
Whisk eggs until frothy, then stir in sour cream and vanilla.
Pour egg mixture into flour mixture and stir until combined.
Fill greased donut pan cavities 2/3 full. Bake at 350º for 9-11 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Let the donuts cool for 5 minutes, then place them on a cooling rack. Let the donuts cool completely before adding icing.
After the donuts have completely cooled, you can prepare the icing. If you have a favorite icing recipe, feel free to use it!! I took the easy route and heated up a can of vanilla frosting in the microwave for about 30 seconds. Stir until it's a smooth consistency. Add about 5 drops of yellow food coloring in, and mix until the color is evenly distributed throughout the icing.
Find a bowl that will fit a donut (I just used a regular cereal bowl) and pour the icing in. Now, just dip the donuts into the icing, then lift straight up. Turn your wrist a little as you lift the donut so you can get the donut to stop dripping. Set on the cooling rack.
Once your donuts are all dipped, sprinkle generously with some bright yellow nonpareils. Donuts are always better with sprinkles, so go as wild as a minion with bananas!
To turn these regular donuts into Minions donuts, they need some eyes and goggles. Grab some white and milk chocolate chips, as well as some gray (or black & white) candy melts. Unless you want to freehand them, you'll also need a guide to work from. Lucky for you, I've got a free printable minions goggles pattern, which includes 4 double eyes and 6 single eyes!! Place the print on a cookie sheet, then layer some wax paper on top.
Add some gray candy melts into a bowl and microwave for one minute. Stir and microwave another 20-30 seconds until everything is melted and a smooth consistency. If you are using black & white candy melts, add one black melt for every two white melts (I think I added about 14 whites and 7 blacks to make enough goggles for 12 donuts). Pour the gray chocolate into a baggie and cut off a small corner or use a icing bag with a small tip. Trace the outer border of all the eyes/goggles so that you have a bunch of circles and figure 8s (left image above).
To fill in the eyes, melt some white chocolate and pour it into a baggie or icing bag. Fill in the inside of the gray circles. For the double eyes, you can immediately place a chocolate chip point-side down for the irises. For the single eyes, melt about 1/4 cup of milk chocolate chips and pipe them on the white chocolate.
Place the cookie sheet with the eyes in the fridge for at least 10 minutes to set.
Peel the eyes off the wax paper and press them down on the center of the donuts. I kept things simple by only adding the eyes and goggles, but you can also use some black decorating gel to add hair, mouths, and goggle bands. After your donuts are finished, you can get that Minions party started!
We are so excited to have our movie night and will even be playing some Minions bingo! Have you and your family seen Minions yet? I'd love to hear what kind of treats would you serve at your Minions movie night!

Have you had the chance to see Inside Out yet? It's one of my family's favorite movies, and has been a lifesaver when it comes to discussing emotions with my daughter. Inside Out has just been released on DVD and Blu-Ray, so we stopped at Target to grab a copy for ourselves along with other must-haves to throw a fun Inside Out movie night at home! I've also designed an Inside Out Bingo that you can download to play to get excited for the movie!
Hotel Transylvania is one of our favorite movies to watch, especially at Halloweentime. Hotel Transylvania 2 is just as spectacular as the first, and introduces some fun, new characters. Since we can't possibly be the only ones who love Hotel Transylvania, I've created a free printable Hotel Transylvania Bingo for you all to play!
Hotel Transylvania Bingo includes all of your favorite characters from the Hotel Transylvania movies. In the bingo set, there are eight bingo cards in different orders, so it's easy to print and use for your parties. It's fun for every age to play, and the calling cards include the names of the characters in case you don't know who they are.
(Set includes 8 bingo cards and calling pieces in a single PDF file)
The blank set works a little differently. You get one bingo card with empty spaces (except for the "free" spot). Then, you print and cut out the bingo pieces so you can assemble the bingo cards yourself! Just glue the pieces in place, and you're ready to play! This is a great option for little hands that want to be creative, or if you have a larger group of people and don't want multiple cards that are the same. The blank bingo set includes all the same characters as the full set, but you can create your own bingo card setup.
(Set includes one blank bingo card, bingo pieces, and calling pieces in a single PDF file)
Game Instructions
1. Pick some kind of object to mark your squares or use a dry erase marker.
2. Give each player a Bingo card and markers (or put your own together with the blank set). Have each player put a marker over the free space.
3. Have one person choose a calling card and say it out loud., call it out or have each child mark it as they see it. Each player will cover that item on their card with a marker. Once a player has 5 squares covered in a row (horizontally, vertically, or diagonally), they call out "BINGO!" and win the game!
Some things you should know before downloading:
*Artsy-Fartsy Mama printables are for PERSONAL USE ONLY.
*You may NOT modify, re-sell, redistribute, or claim the design as your own.
*Please do not remove the credits/watermarks.

To lengthen the life of the prints, I would recommend printing the Bingo cards and calling pieces on cardstock and laminating or putting in a plastic page. All files are 8.5x11 inches and put together in a single PDF format.
Have fun!! Would love to hear from you if you play using my printable! If you have any bingo ideas you'd like me to make in the future, please let me know!
My daughter and I like to plan a fun girl's night at least once a month. My daughter often plans our fun nights together with a theme, which usually include a movie, dinner, and some kind of activity. This last month, we decided to have a Descendants Slumber Party and watch the new Disney Channel Original Movie, Descendants, which released on The Disney Channel and on DVD at Walmart on July 31st.

My daughter really looks forward to our girl's nights together, and often plans the evening out with some kind of theme. In anticipation of MARVEL'S The Avengers: Age of Ultron coming to theaters on May 1st, we decided to have an Avengers-themed girl's night! Our plan was to watch The Avengers while eating snacks, playing bingo, and finishing the evening with some Hulk cake pops!!

The Muppets are a classic, and are loved by everyone. Though sequels usually get a bad wrap for never being as good as the first, the newest Muppets movie, Muppets Most Wanted, certainly did not disappoint. I might even go as far as saying it might be my new favorite!! My daughter has already watched it multiple times since we got it!!
