To make your own Resin Witchy Ghost Trinket Jar, you will need these supplies:
SAFETY FIRST: Before getting started, ALWAYS wear disposable gloves, protect your workspace, and be sure to work in a well-ventilated area!

Carefully flip the molds inside out. Then, use a small blending brush to "paint" the wand and hat band with chameleon mica powder and gold mica powder. If you paint outside of the lines, you can clean it up with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol.

Carefully flip the molds right-side out and prepare the resin. Prepare 4.5 ounces of resin according to package directions. Pour in a 2:1 ratio of resin and hardener to a large mixing cup. Slowly stir the resin together with a stir stick for two minutes or until combined. If the resin looks cloudy or has any streaks running through it, you need to keep stirring it until it becomes clear.
Add a generous amount of white opal mica powder and stir well until fully combined. Give the resin a few minutes to "rest" and allow the bubbles to rise to the top.
Slowly pour the resin into the ghost jar mold and allow it to drip down to the bottom. Gently squeeze the mold along the bottom edge and the hands to help release any trapped air bubbles. Alternate pouring some resin, and then working the bubbles out until you have filled the mold to the top. Do NOT overfill. Let the mold sit for a few minutes, and then spritz with 91% alcohol to remove any surface bubbles.

For the hat/lid mold, prepare 5.5 ounces of resin. Pour in a 2:1 ratio of resin and hardener to a large mixing cup. Slowly stir the resin together with a stir stick for two minutes or until combined. If the resin looks cloudy or has any streaks running through it, you need to keep stirring it until it becomes clear.
Add a generous amount of black holographic chunky glitter and a tiny bit of black mica powder and stir well until fully combined. Give the resin a few minutes to "rest" and allow the bubbles to rise to the top.
Slowly pour the resin into the ghost jar lid (hat) mold. Gently squeeze the mold at the pointed end and especially around the brim to release any trapped air bubbles. Alternate pouring some resin, and then working the bubbles out until you have filled the mold to the top. Do NOT overfill (like I did). Let the mold sit for a few minutes, and then spritz with 91% alcohol to remove any surface bubbles.

Carefully remove the cured jar and lid from the molds. Trim away any excess resin with scissors or a craft knife. Sand down edges, if necessary, and bring back the shine with clear spray sealant.
The ghost face has indentations for the eyes and mouth. To make them pop and give them a "finished" look, use a black acrylic paint marker (or a thin paint brush and acrylic paint) to fill in the areas. If necessary, add more than one layer for a solid finish. However, make sure that the previous layer has dried completely before adding on another!!

Don't you love how the pre-"painted" areas (hat band, magic wand) pop on these pieces?! I love how easy it is to add powder (or paint) to the molds before adding resin can save so many steps later.

As soon as you can after removing the pieces from the molds, place the hat/lid on top of the ghost jar base to make sure they fit together well. If the resin is still pliable or if you over-filled the lid mold, you may have some fitting issues.
For an over-filling problem, gently sand down any problem areas until you have a good fit. For pliable resin, fit the pieces together, and then gently take them apart to finish curing. If they finish curing while the lid is still on, the pieces will likely stick together - possibly permanently.

Now this spooky jar can be filled with any of your favorite Halloween trinkets; like jewelry, treats, or even small items like change or paperclips! This Resin Witchy Ghost Trinket Jar is such a fun and trendy piece of Halloween decor, and would also make a great gift! As always, I would love to hear what you think and see what you're making!
