Get ready for mischief with this Shenanigans & Malarkey St. Patrick's Day Shirt (with Free Cut File)!

Shenanigans & Malarkey St. Patrick's Day Shirt with Free Cut File

As a kid, we always had a great time wearing as much green as possible on St. Patrick's Day, including painting our nails and wearing green makeup. We've tried to carry on the tradition of wearing green and setting leprechaun traps with my daughter, and have made a lot of fun memories. She recently learned the word, "malarkey" and uses it often. Because of this new favorite word and how she's known to cause a bit of mischief herself, I created this Shenanigans & Malarkey shirt for her to wear this St. Patrick's Day!

I've teamed up with some of my favorite bloggers put together a collection of 16 FREE St. Patrick's Day-themed cut files to share with you, including this Shenanigans & Malarkey cut file!

To make your own "Shenanigans & Malarkey" St. Patrick's Day shirt, you'll need these supplies:

Upload the "Shenanigans & Malarkey" cut file into Design Space and size the image to fit your shirt. When cutting your iron-on vinyl, make sure to mirror your image! If you don't, your design will be backwards when you put it on the shirt. To do this, select a mat thumbnail in Design Space before cutting, and click the "Mirror" toggle to reverse the image. Place the vinyl face-down on the mat, load it into the machine and click the "Go" button to cut the vinyl.

"Weed" the excess vinyl by removing all of the parts that don't belong in the design. I usually peel away the outer edges starting at the corner and working my way around the design. Then I use weeding tools to remove the smaller pieces of the design.

Plug in the EasyPress 2 and power it on. Each kind of HTV has a different heat and time setting, so be sure to check the recommended EasyPress settings before getting started. Adjust the heat and time setting to your shirt and vinyl specifications. Once the light turns green and the machine beeps, it's ready to use.

Once the EasyPress is up to temperature, place your shirt on the EasyPress Mat and preheat the area for 5-10 seconds. Lay the HTV down on center of the shirt, with the clear carrier sheet facing up. Set the EasyPress over the vinyl and press the green "C" button. Hold firmly in place while the timer counts down. Turn the shirt over and press the EasyPress firmly again for 15 seconds. Peel off the carrier sheet while the vinyl is still warm.

If you use different vinyls like I did, it's important to protect the vinyl that's already been pressed. Place the other cuts of vinyl onto the shirt, and cover with the Iron-On Protective Sheet. Press the vinyl into place with the EasyPress 2 the same way and remove the carrier sheets while the vinyl is still warm.

My daughter is so excited to wear this shirt, and my husband has also asked me to make one for him to wear to school! This would also be a fun design to put on a piece of wood or canvas for some cute St. Patrick's Day decor.

  1. Hi! I'm trying to use the SVG file to make this t-shirt today, but the N in AND keeps disappearing when I weld it. Any idea why? It's so cute! I'm making it for my husband.

    1. Thanks for letting me know! The SVG should be fixed now.

  2. I can't find the download for shenanigans and malarky

    1. The download link is in the supply list.

    2. The “N” in “and” keeps partially disappearing on me. Is there a way to fix this?

    3. I'm so sorry about that! I am looking into it now.

  5. I don't have a Cricut, but I'm feeling very tempted! What a fun t-shirt, Lindsay. I just love the words "Shenanigans" and "Malarky" - so this t-shirt really catches my fancy.

Thank you for sharing and for being a part of the Hearth and Soul Link Party Community. I’m featuring this post at the party which has just gone live. Hope to ‘see’ you there! Take care and I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

  6. I absolutely love this design and want to use it for my sons st pattys shirt but I can not find where to download the cut file. I am not sure if it is because it was from a few years ago or am I just missing it somewhere?

    1. The link to download the design is in the supply list. Have fun!
