Autumn Floral Wreath

Add a pop of fall color to your home with this gorgeous handmade Autumn Floral Wreath!

Autumn Floral Wreath

While hitting the craft store (for other supplies), a vibrant floral bundle caught my eye. I don't always feel confident in my wreath-making abilities, however, I knew I needed these gorgeous autumn colors displayed in my home. Like I tell my own daughter, how will you get better if you don't practice?! After a big, deep breath, this Autumn Floral Wreath eventually came together like magic. It only took me about 1-2 hours, which is the perfect about of time to make as a craft night with the girls! I'm loving this new piece of autumn decor, and hope I've inspired you to give it a try for yourself!

To make your own Autumn Floral Wreath, you will need these supplies:

Separate the different flower branches from the flower bundle. These bundles are usually put together with wire, so use wire cutters, NOT scissors, to cut them apart. Place them into groups of the same flower.

Next, cut the bottom end off of each flower. This will help the flowers to lay flat on the wreath form when you put them into place.

Every flower bundle is a little different and might not have the same amount of each flower. First, count the amount of chrysanthemums (I have 10). Make marks on the wreath so that they will be evenly spread around the circle. It doesn't have to be perfect, just close!

Heat up the glue gun and place a quarter-sized drop on either the wreath itself (over the mark) or on the back of the flower. Press the flower onto the front of the wreath and hold it in place until the glue has set. If you're like me and are constantly burning your fingers, I recommend getting some finger protectors!

Repeat the process to place the rest of the chrysanthemums onto the wreath. As you can see, mine are definitely NOT perfectly spaced! They are close enough though, and that's really all you need.

Next, it's time to place the orange/accent flowers onto the wreath. My floral bundle included smaller orange chrysanthemums and red/orange daisies. I arranged the mums first, placing one in between each larger mum but alternating the placement on the top and bottom edge of the wreath.

I ended up having a lot more daisies than mums, so I filled in the empty alternating spaces with the daisies. The daisies were also a lot smaller, so I used two flowers in some areas that needed a little more filler.

I am absolutely in love with the red/pink/burgundy colors blended with the orange/yellow!

Next, I arranged some small purple/burgundy berry picks (from the floral bundle) to fit in between the flowers for a pop of contrasting color and texture. Because I'm a bit of a perfectionist, I also counted these out to make an attempt at arranging them evenly, but please feel free to do YOU and place them however you want!

Once you find a placement for the berries, add a little glue to the end of the pic and press them onto the wreath between the flowers.

Now it's time to add some pumpkins to the wreath! These velvet pumpkins were on a separate pick, along with some paper-wrapped wire curls. Remove the pumpkins from the pick and arrange them on the wreath to your liking.

Of course, I arranged my pumpkins on the wreath so that they are alternating above/below the red mums around the wreath. Spread the flowers out of the way, then glue the pumpkins into place. For some more contrast, I also placed some of the leaves from the floral bundle behind the pumpkins.

I was planning to be finished after the pumpkins, but then I kept looking at the paper-wrapped wire curls and thought they would be a fun addition! I kind of love them, and they were easy to place by just adding a glob of glue to the bottom of the wire and pressing them into the wreath between flowers.

Getting creative is so much more fun when you feel inspired! I'm loving how this autumn floral wreath turned out, and those gorgeous colors are just what home decor needed! This wreath is pretty simple to make, and would be a fun project for a craft night with the girls. As always, I would love to see your creations if you decide to make this project!
