White Chocolate Peppermint Cheeseball

This White Chocolate Peppermint Cheeseball is the perfect holiday party dessert!

White Chocolate Peppermint Cheeseball

If you're looking for a simple recipe to please a crowd this holiday season, you have to try this White Chocolate Peppermint Cheeseball! Rich and creamy with bursts of peppermint in each bite, this festive dessert dip tastes amazing and pairs well with an assortment of your favorite cookies. I am so excited to be sharing this recipe with you, and would love to hear if you make some to share with your own family this Christmas!

White Chocolate Peppermint Cheeseball

To make this decadent White Chocolate Peppermint Cheeseball, you will need some simple ingredients: cream cheese, butter, sugar, vanilla, and of course, white chocolate chips and peppermint bits. You will also need mixing bowls, a hand mixer or stand mixer, and plastic wrap.

Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat cream cheese, butter, vanilla, and sugars together until fully combined. For best results, soften the cream cheese before mixing the ingredients together. Soften the cream cheese thawing at room temperature for 30-60 minutes before using. To speed up the process, unwrap the block and microwave for 15 seconds.

To add some extra crunch to the dip, use a spatula to fold in some white chocolate chips and chopped peppermint pieces.

Once all the ingredients for the cheeseball are combined, it will need to be completely chilled so that you will be able to form it into a ball and have it keep its shape. Line a 6" bowl with plastic wrap, and place the cheeseball mixture in the center. Wrap the mixture completely in the plastic, and place the wrapped cheeseball and the bowl into the refrigerator for a few hours.

Over-mixing the cream cheese and butter can result in a soft cheeseball that may take longer to firm up. Instead of refrigerating, you can place the cheeseball in the freezer for one hour to help it harden quicker.

Once completely chilled, gently shape the mixture into a ball, and peel away the plastic wrap. Fill a bowl with more white chocolate chips and chopped peppermints and place the cheeseball on top. Lightly press the ball into the toppings and roll it around until it is completely covered.

Place the peppermint-coated cheeseball in the center of a large serving plate and surround it with an assortment of cookies. I would recommend using things like shortbread, graham crackers, chocolate cookies, pretzels, and so much more!

Servings: 12-16
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Chill Time: 2 Hours

Ingredients:

  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • ⅓ cup powdered sugar
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 ¼ cups white chocolate chips, divided
  • 1 ¼ cups chopped peppermint candies or candy canes, divided

Directions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, use a hand mixer or stand mixer to beat the cream cheese and butter together. Add the vanilla extract and both sugars, and beat again until fully combined.
  2. Add ½ cup of white chocolate chips and ½ cup of chopped peppermint and fold together with a rubber spatula.
  3. Line a small bowl with a long piece of plastic wrap and pour the cream cheese mixture on top of the plastic. You want enough plastic wrap to fold over and completely cover the top of the cream cheese mixture. Refrigerate the bowl with the cheeseball for at least 2 hours or until firm.
  4. Mix the remaining white chocolate chips and chopped peppermints in a large bowl and place the chilled cheeseball on top. Using your hands, lightly press the cheeseball into the mixture and roll it around until it is fully covered.
  5. Place the cheeseball on a large serving platter with an assortment of cookies.

Tips:
  • Storage: Keep the cheeseball refrigerated in an airtight container for about 3 days.
  • Freeze: Cheeseball can also be frozen in an airtight container for up to one month. Thaw cheeseball in the refrigerator before eating.
  • Cheeseball can be made ahead of time! Keep cheeseball in the fridge until ready to serve. Arrange the assortment of cookies right before serving.
  • If traveling with the cheeseball, store it in an airtight container (separate from cookies), in a cooler with an ice pack to ensure that it stays chilled and firm.
  • Make multiple individual-sized cheeseballs! Use a cookie scoop to measure the cream cheese mixture, roll into balls, and chill until firm. Finally, coat each ball in the white chocolate and peppermint mix.
