Gingerbread House Gift Boxes

Share a sweet holiday gift packaged in an adorable Gingerbread House Gift Box!

Gingerbread House Gift Boxes

Gingerbread houses are so fun to look at, but I'm not very good at making them. This year, you can go handmade with these Gingerbread House Gift Boxes! Completely made of paper, these sweet boxes are easy to make using your Cricut machine. You can fill these boxes with candies, small gifts, and notes for holiday gift-giving or even party favors!

What you'll need to make your own Gingerbread House Gift Boxes:

Gingerbread House Gift Boxes

Open the Gingerbread House Gift Box project in Design Space. Click on the green "Make It" button to go straight to cutting the project out as-is. If you want to make any adjustments to the box size, add more candies, or change paper colors, click on the "Customize" button. Once you are ready to make the project, click on the green "Make It" button in the top right corner.

In the next screen, you can get your mats ready for cutting. To make more than one box, click on the project copies dropdown box (circled) and select how many boxes you want to cut out. After you click "Apply" (right below the box), your mat previews will adjust so that you know how many sheets of paper you will need for your project.

After you click "Continue", you will be taken to the cutting process. Make sure that you select the correct materials so that your project cuts perfectly! If you are using an Explore machine, turn the Smart Dial to "Custom" and select your material from the menu and have your Scoring Stylus loaded. With a Maker, select the material from the menu and make sure that you have the Double Scoring Wheel handy so that you can load it into the machine when prompted.

After everything is cut, separate all of the pieces. Use some quick-drying adhesive or Glue Dots to attach the pieces of the peppermints, lollipops, door, and window together. I also put the window frame pieces onto the box templates.

Fold along all of the score marks. Next, add some adhesive to the tabs on the adjoining sides of the box templates and attach the pieces together. Stick the snow pieces along the bottom score line, and then center the door and window on the smaller sides of the box.

Now you can decorate your gingerbread house with lollipops, peppermints, and golden gumdrops! If you want more candies, feel free to add more to the Gingerbread House Gift Box project and use whatever colors you want!

Add adhesive to the other side tabs and bring them around to connect the sides together to form the box.

Close up the bottom of the box and add a small piece of tape to keep it sturdy. Now you can fill the box up with your favorite holiday goodies, notes, or small gifts!

Once the box is full, close the top of the box by bringing the top tabs together and lining them up. You can tape it closed, but you don't have to! Fold the top roof piece along the score lines, then push the top tabs through the slot. This will keep the box closed and top your gingerbread house with glittery snow!

These Gingerbread House Gift Boxes are quite simple to make, and are going to be so fun to share with friends this holiday season! I'd love to see if you make any of these gift boxes, so leave a comment, or tag me on Instagram (@artsyfartsymama).
