This easy homemade 3-Ingredient Butterbeer recipe allows you to enjoy a sip of the magical Wizarding World in the comfort of your own home!

Butterbeer is one of my favorite treats from the magical world of Harry Potter. This iconic drink comes in many forms: cold, frozen, hot, and even comes in ice cream, potted cream, and fudge! Since I can't visit Universal Studios more often to get my Butterbeer fix, I've found a Muggle alternative. This 3-Ingredient Butterbeer recipe is a delightfully simple copycat recipe that only takes minutes to conjure up. Now you can start off your next movie marathon with a "cheers" to Butterbeer!

Whenever I get the chance to visit the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, I can't resist stopping at the Butterbeer cart! My preferred form of Butterbeer right now is frozen (which is basically a Butterbeer slushy), and the ice cream is a close second. The next time you visit this magical place, you won't want to skip out on this stop!

Making Butterbeer at home is so easy, and only needs 3 ingredients:
cream soda: any brand will work
butter: use salted or unsalted to your tastes
butterscotch sauce: you can use either butterscotch syrup or sauce. The difference between the two is sauce will be thicker and more rich. Syrups are quite thin and less rich in flavor.
Cool Whip or whipped cream: this one is optional, but I like to add a dollop on top and then mix it in right before drinking to add some creaminess to the drink.
You will also need a mixing bowl, whisk, and a measuring cup.

Add the butterscotch sauce and butter to a mixing bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds, or just long enough to melt the butter. Stir the sauce and butter together until blended.

Pour a can of cream soda into the mixing bowl. I prefer to have the cream soda chilled before adding it to make the Butterbeer colder, but it can also be added at room temperature.

Use a whisk to combine the ingredients into a smooth and creamy consistency. If you want the Butterbeer to be served cold, you can add another bowl filled with ice cubes underneath the mixing bowl while you whisk the ingredients together, or place the bowl of whisked ingredients into the refrigerator for 15-20 minutes.

Split the Butterbeer into two chilled mugs* and top with Cool Whip and a drizzle of butterscotch sauce. For a prettier Cool Whip topping presentation, fill a piping bag with Cool Whip and use a starred piping tip to swirl the topping on.
For a more magical experience, serve Butterbeer in etched Three Broomsticks mugs on top of Three Broomsticks coasters!

Serves: 2Ingredients:

- Cool Whip
- Extra butterscotch sauce, for topping
Directions:
- In a mixing bowl, add softened butter and butterscotch sauce.
- Microwave butter and sauce for about 20 seconds, or just until butter has melted.
- Stir the ingredients together well until blended.
- Add cream soda to the mixture, and whisk until it becomes a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Divide the Butterbeer mixture between two mugs.
- Top with Cool Whip and drizzle with more butterscotch sauce.
Notes:
- Storage: the drink is best served immediately and does not store well as a leftover.
- Low Sugar: for a Butterbeer that is lower in sugar, you can use a zero sugar cream soda, and sugar-free butterscotch sauce or syrup, and top with zero sugar Cool Whip.
