Snickers Salad

Made with Snickers, tart apples, and whipped vanilla pudding, this quick and simple Snickers "Salad" is a sweet treat everyone will love!

Snickers Salad

One of my favorite desserts growing up was Snickers Salad. Even though it's more dessert than salad, it's still something that people like to bring to potlucks and dinner parties to be served as a side dish. Made with Snickers, tart apples, and whipped vanilla pudding, this salad gives caramel apple vibes that leaves you going back for more. This is one of those recipes that sounds totally weird, but it's going to become one of your favorite treats once you give it a try.

Snickers Salad

This dessert Snickers Salad couldn't be easier to make! You'll need just 6 ingredients:
  • Instant vanilla pudding: You’ll need one package of instant vanilla pudding mix. Do NOT use cook-and-serve pudding mix.
  • Milk: As far as I know, you cannot substitute with milk alternatives in this recipe. The instant pudding is made to work with regular milk.
  • Cool Whip: Make sure that Cool Whip topping has thawed before making this recipe.
  • Granny Smith apples: Granny Smith apples add a contrasting tartness to the salad, along with extra crunch. Wash, core, and chop apples into about 1½-inch bite-sized pieces. Apples can also be peeled if preferred.
  • Snickers: Like the apples, cut 12 Fun Size bars or 3-4 regular bars into bite-sized pieces.
  • Mini marshmallows: Marshmallows add a little extra sweetness and chewy texture to the salad.

Snickers Salad

First, you need to create the creamy base for this dessert salad. In a large mixing bowl, first whisk the vanilla instant pudding and milk together for two minutes. Allow the pudding to sit for another few minutes to thicken up. If you skip this step, your salad could turn out runny.

Next, add in thawed Cool Whip and mix until combined. The mixture should be light and fluffy.

Snickers Salad

Add the chopped apples, mini marshmallows, and Snickers pieces to the bowl. Gently fold all of the ingredients together until everything is evenly coated. At this point, you can transfer the Snickers Salad into a serving bowl for presentation.

Cover and refrigerate the salad for at least 1 hour, but make sure to keep it refrigerated until you are ready to serve and enjoy!

  • Variations:
    • Pudding Flavor: Swap the vanilla pudding for a different instant pudding mix, like butterscotch, chocolate, white chocolate, or and caramel.
    • Fruit:
You can add or substitute the apples for almost any fruits. Grapes, blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries are great options.
    • Candy Bars: Change out the Snickers for similar candy bars Twix, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way, or Kit Kats.
    • Toppings: Along with the apples and Snickers pieces, you can top the salad with peanuts and/or mini chocolate chips. You can also drizzle chocolate or caramel sauce over the top.
