Candy Cane Chex Mix

This 3-ingredient Candy Cane Chex Mix is a peppermint-packed Christmas party favorite!

Candy Cane Chex Mix

Peppermint is a popular Christmas flavor, and this Candy Cane Chex Mix is one of my favorite ways of putting it to use! Made with only 3 ingredients, this snackable treat is a quick and easy recipe that you can make over and over again all season long. We love taking it to holiday parties and sharing it while watching Christmas movies. It's also a great gift idea for friends, neighbors, teachers, and co-workers.

Candy Cane Chex Mix

Pour Rice Chex cereal into a large mixing bowl (the larger, the better). Now, you don't have to use Rice Chex - you can substitute with any kind of Chex you'd like!

Melt white almond bark or white chocolate in a double boiler or microwave. Once completely melted, you can add a little bit of peppermint oil for a little more of a peppermint-y kick. However, be sure to use peppermint OIL and not extract, because the extract can cause the almond bark to seize.

Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal, and fold it in until all of the cereal has been completely covered.

Crush peppermint candy into a dust using a food processor for best results. You can crush it by hand, but the finer the peppermint candies are, the better! Having a few bits of peppermint that haven't been ground up all of the way are also great for adding a bit of extra crunch.

If you'd like, you can also add in a big handful of holiday sprinkles at this step!

Fold the peppermint dust into the cereal mixture until evenly combined. Work quickly so that you can get it all mixed together before the chocolate begins to set. Once mixed, pour the cereal mix onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and spread it out. Give the chocolate time to completely cool, which should take about 10-15 minutes. Once cooled, break the cereal pieces apart and enjoy!
