Create a sparkling work of art in an afternoon with this Dragon Diamond Dotz Box Kit!

Have you tried diamond painting yet? It is actually one of my favorite things to do as some "self care" because it calms me right down! If you are a beginner at Diamond Dotz or have a teen hanging around the house, a Diamond Dotz Box Kit is the perfect way to get started on diamond painting. There are multiple Box Kit designs suitable for every personality. My dragon-obsessed daughter couldn't resist this Ariel the Baby Dragon kit, and we had so much fun "painting" the afternoon away!

Ariel the Baby Dragon Diamond Dotz Box Kit comes with everything you need to create a sparkling work of art, including the pre-printed Dotz Box, 13 colors of Diamond Dotz and symbol key, wax square, stylus, tray and instructions.

The dragon is the only part of the image that is covered with Dotz, so I think that makes these Box Kits a great Diamond Dotz diamond painting project for teens and beginners. The box comes ready to be "painted", and there is no framing required once completed.

The kit comes with 13 different colored diamond packets and a small piece of paper that works as a key. Each diamond packet has a number on it. On the key, find the packet number to find its coordinating symbol. The image on the box is covered in circles with different symbols, so keep the key close by to refer to it when placing different diamonds.

The Diamond Dotz stylus has a hollowed tip. When you press the stylus into the wax, it fills the tip with wax. The stylus and wax are essential to diamond painting because the tackiness of the wax makes it simple for you to transfer the tiny diamond pieces to your project.

Open a package of diamonds and pour them into the craft tray. Gently shake the tray, and a lot of the diamonds will flip faceted-side up.

Peel one end of the plastic cover away from the image to reveal the adhesive background to get started. If you are not planning on finishing the kit in one sitting, don't peel the entire cover off. If you need to stop and take a break, simply lay the cover back down to protect the adhesive from getting any debris stuck to it.

Gently press the stylus tip onto the faceted side of a diamond, and place it over the coordinating symbol from the key (in this case, it's the circle with the "K" inside). The adhesive is extremely sticky, so the diamond stays in place like magic! Keep placing diamonds on the project until all of those specific symbols are covered.

Once all of the circles with that symbol are covered, pour the excess diamonds from the tray back into the package. Choose another diamond color packet, pour the diamonds into the tray, and cover the coordinating symbol. You can work in number order, or randomly. This is totally a personal preference, so do what works for you!

Keep placing diamonds on the project, one color at a time, until all of the symbols are covered.

Once completed, the box is immediately ready to put on display! No need to frame the piece. The box is sturdy enough to stand on its own, but also has a hole cut out in the back so that it can be hung up on a wall. This took my daughter and I about 1.5 hours to complete, which makes it a do-able afternoon project for practically anyone. If you're looking for a fun and unique gift idea for teens and Diamond Dotz beginners, I definitely recommend grabbing a Diamond Dotz Box Kit!
