Tie leftover scraps of felt onto an embroidery hoop for a fun and fringy wreath that is perfect for Halloween!

Felt Scrap Jack-O-Lantern Wreath

Halloween crafts are so much fun, and even more-so if they are simple! This adorable Jack-O-Lantern Wreath is made using scraps of felt, and comes together so quickly. This wreath works as festive home decor, and would also be a cute to pair with a treat to share as a Halloween gift for neighbors, friends, or teachers!

Felt Scrap Jack-O-Lantern Wreath Supplies

To make your own Felt Scrap Jack-O-Lantern Wreath, you will need these supplies:

Wood Embroidery Hoops

Remove the label from the embroidery hoop, if necessary. Loosen the screw at the top of the hoop and separate the inside hoop from the outside hoop. Tighten the screw back up. Use one piece of the hoop now and save the smaller part for another project.

Orange Felt Strips

Use the 9″ width of the felt craft sheets, and randomly cut the felt into strips. Make a stack of strips - some skinny and some fat, with scissors. For this 4″ hoop you will need approximately 50 strips.

Felt Ties on Hoop

Start tying the strips of felt around the embroidery hoop in double knots. Use the 12, 3, 6, and 9 o’clock marks as a starting point. Continue working around the entire hoop, pushing the strips together to get as many tied on as possible. The more scrap strips tied onto the hoop, the fluffier the wreath will be.

Green Felt Strips

Cut a 9" strips of Dark Brown, Dark Green, and Olive Green felt. Tie them all at the very top of the hoop, near the screw. Position the dark brown scrap right at the center of the top, standing up to resemble the pumpkin stem.

Pumpkin Wreath Back

Flip the hoop to the back. Take one orange scrap strip and fold over the screw, so that the tails are hanging down into the center of the hoop. Attach some ribbon or twine to the back to work as a hanger if you choose.

Pumpkin Wiggly Eyes

Turn the wreath back over. Attach two large wiggle eyes, one on each tail with a glue gun and glue sticks

Pumpkin Wreath with Scissors

Use scissors to carefully trim the excess orange felt from under the eyes.

Pipe Cleaner with Glue Gun

Wrap green chenille stems around a pencil then slide off to reveal a coil. Bend the stem in half and glue it into the top if the Jack-O-Lantern near the stem.
