Pink Lemonade Lip Balm

Make your own summery Pink Lemonade Lip Balm with this simple recipe!

Pink Lemonade Lip Balm

Have you ever tried making your own lip balm? It's actually really simple, and a lot of fun. It's also a great craft for teens. This Pink Lemonade Lip Balm smells fantastic and reminds me of a glass of pink lemonade in the summer! These lip balms are awesome to keep on-hand for your own use, and actually make a great party favor, gift idea, or even something you could sell.

Pink Lemonade Lip Balm

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 2 tablespoons of beeswax pellets in 30-45 second increments. Another way to melt the beeswax is in a small saucepan or bowl over another pan of boiling water (double boiler). I stirred the beeswax with a craft stick as it melted.

Once the wax is melted, add in the coconut oil and stir until melted. Remove the mixture from the heat add the almond oil and the drops lemon essential oil. Stir the mixture until combined.

Be careful, it will be HOT!

Pink Lemonade Lip Balm

To turn the lemonade lip balm mixture into a "pink lemonade, you'll need to add some type of pigment. I added a little bit of a couple shades of pink mica powder. Mica powder is used in cosmetics, and is a great way to add vibrant color and shimmer to your lip balm.

A little bit of powder goes a long way, so start small and add more as needed. The color of the lip balm when it's liquid is also a lot darker than when it sets up, so keep that in mind as you add color.

If the mixture starts to firm up, pop it back in the microwave in 30 second increments or put it back on the double boiler. until it's completely liquid again.

While the lip balm mixture is still completely liquid, carefully pour it into 1/2 oz. lip balm containers. Let the containers cool overnight to solidify, or put them into the fridge if you are in a hurry. Because they are so small, these containers will firm up quickly.

This recipe will fill twelve 1/2 oz. lip balm containers, which is perfect for party favors, to give as gifts, or to sell!

To personalize your lip balms, you can add a label to the tops of the containers. I went with a simple half pink, half yellow lemon, and you can download the "Pink Lemonade" label if you want to use it for your own lip balm.

If you want to give handmade Pink Lemonade Lip Balms away as a gift, I recommend pairing them with Kindness on Purpose Noteables or Sprinkle Kindness Lunch Notes! They are so cute and match the lip balms perfectly!
