Spirit Riding Free Tween Brunch Party

Have a Spirit Riding Free Tween Brunch Party, complete with DIY shirts (with FREE cut file) and Strawberry Shortcake Waffles!

Spirit Riding Free Tween Brunch Party

My daughter loves to plan "girls-only days" where we spend one-on-one time watching something fun and doing some kind of activity. Her latest request for girls-only day was to invite a couple of her homeschool friends over to watch episodes of Spirit Riding Free. I immediately started making plans for a Tween Brunch Party adventure, including printable Spirit Riding Free activity pages, DIY shirts for each girl, and some delicious Strawberry Shortcake Waffles!

Spirit Riding Free is a fun series full of adventure and friendship that is set during the 19th century in the small town of Miradero, Texas. Lucky is a 12-year-old girl who has recently moved from the city to Miradero. She encounters a wild mustang named Spirit (who is the offspring of Spirit and Rain from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron), and gradually bonds with the stallion. Lucky soon makes friends with fellow classmates and horse owners, Pru and Abigail, and the three embark on wild adventures across the land.

Making your own shirts is very easy, and really fun for little parties like this. I designed this Spirit Riding Free-inspired cut file and then cut it out of iron-on vinyl with my Cricut machine. Then, I pressed the vinyl onto shirts with my Cricut EasyPress. That's it! Easy, right? I made a shirt for all of our party guests to wear, and they all looked adorable.

Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

For our brunch party, we stopped at Walmart to grab some essentials. To save time on our Strawberry Shortcake Waffles, I opted for chocolatey chip and cinnamon toast Eggo waffles since they toast up in just a couple of minutes. I also grabbed some Reddi-Wip made with real cream (or high quality coconut cream in non-dairy varieties) to pair wonderfully with the strawberries.

Strawberry Shortcake Waffles

To make the Strawberry Shortcake Waffles, start by toasting up the waffles to make them warm, fluffy and delicious. While the waffles are heating up, wash and slice up some strawberries. When the waffles are done, add one to a plate and add some Reddi-Wip and sliced strawberries. Lay the other waffle on top, and add more strawberries and cream.

These are fantastic for brunch, or even for a lighter dessert! I love how you get bites of chocolate mixed in when you use the chocolatey chip Eggo waffles. The cinnamon toast Eggo waffles are made to break into pieces of four, so they are perfect to make Strawberry Shortcake Waffle Bites with a hint of cinnamon and sugar. I'd love to hear if you make some Strawberry Shortcake Waffles for yourself!

My daughter and her friends had so much fun at their party celebrating positive girl empowerment, friendship, and loyalty. You could also make some Spirit Riding Free Bottlecap Necklaces at your party if you'd like another activity.
