Believe!

I don't think you can ever have too much holiday decor. Especially if it's cute and it goes perfectly with the rest of your decorations! I am so excited to show you what I found to add to my Christmas decorations at Wood Creations here in Utah. There are so many cute designs at Wood Creations, it was hard to choose just one! I finally settled on the Believe Word Set.

If you live nearby their store, you can go right in and pick out your wood set and they also offer all kinds of supplies to personalize your project. Like most of you, I don't live near the store, so I had them ship my word set to me. Shipping was fast, and the letters were sanded, shrink-wrapped, and ready to go! The hardest part of this project was choosing my colors, papers and how to make them look good.

Supplies:
  • Believe Word Set
  • Paint
  • Scrapbook paper in different colors & patterns
  • Mod Podge
  • Glitter
  • Ribbon, embellishments, etc {optional}

Step 1: I spray painted all the letters with silver spray paint, making sure to cover all the edges. The front doesn't matter as much since it will be covered. You could also use different color acrylic paints for each letter. Make it your own!

Step 2: Next, I traced the letters "B", "L", and the last two "E"s onto the scrapbook paper and cut them out. I painted some Mod Podge on each letter and stuck the papers on. Add another layer of Mod Podge on top to seal the paper.

For applying glitter, paint a good amount of Mod Podge on the front of the letter, lay the letter down on a paper and pour the glitter on top. Let sit for a little while and then gently pour the glitter off the letter onto the paper. Lightly tap off any excess glitter.

Step 3: At this point, you could add your embellishments and be done. I kept staring at the letters and they just didn't look how I wanted them to. Then I decided to do the one thing that I knew would be perfect {for me}:

Step 4: Peel off the paper and cover all the letters in glitter {surprised?}!! Once the Mod Podge was dry, I sprayed all the letters with a coat of sealer to try to keep most of the glitter on.

All of my Christmas decor is pretty much covered in glitter in one way or another, so this Believe Word Set fits in perfectly!! I absolutely love it and am so happy with how it turned out. I was going to add some kind of embellishment, but I haven't quite decided what would look nice without going overboard.

This is our first year having a mantel, and I am loving how it all looks!!
