Button Flower Bouquet

Use a variety of buttons to make a bright and cheerful Button Flower Bouquet!

Button Flower Bouquet

Button crafts are so fun and easy, and this is one that's perfect to get your space ready for spring! Not only is a Button Flower Bouquet great for home decor, but they are a sweet handmade gift that could be made for Mother's Day, or an anniversary. This is a great craft project to do with kids, and to use up your button collection. I personally love using jars of random buttons because there are so many creative button sizes and shapes to choose from that it makes this an even easier project!

DIY Button Bouquet

To make your own Button Flower Bouquet, you will need these supplies:

DIY Button Bouquet

Gather a bunch of buttons in a variety of colors, sizes, and shapes. The more different the buttons are, the better! Sort the buttons into groups of 2-3 and stack them together from largest to smallest. Try to make sure that the buttons are contrasting colors so that they really pop!

Cut a 12" length of jewelry wire (I used 18-20 gauge), and use jewelry pliers to help you thread one end of the wire through all of the button holes. After it's been threaded through, twist the end of the wire behind the button and connect it to the remaining wire. Use the wire cutters to trim the end close to the twist so that you don't have any sharp ends sticking out.

You can keep the wire "stems" of the flowers straight, or you can add some interest by spiraling the wire. Simply wrap the wire tightly around a pencil, pen, or a skewer - or use all kinds of sizes to make them all different. Slide the wire off, and gently tug at the bottom of the wire to stretch the stem out a little.

Fill your vase with some sand, and gently poke the wires into the vase. The sand will help the wires to stand up on their own. To be able see the entire "bouquet", arrange the flowers to stand at different heights. These Button Flower Bouquets are so simple to make, and is such a bright and colorful piece of spring decor to have on display. They would also make a wonderful gift for kids to help make to give as a gift on Mother's Day!

I would love to hear if you decide to try this project out for yourself. As always, I would love to see your creations! Share yours on InstagramFacebook, or leave a comment/photo on the project pin on Pinterest! #AFMCrafts
