DIY Mini Fire Pit for S'mores

Make s'mores all summer long with this simple-to-make DIY Mini Fire Pit!

We've been working hard over the past year on renovating our backyard. It's finally ready and we are excited to enjoy it throughout the upcoming summer months! It doesn't matter whether it's a party with all of our friends or a quiet evening with family - any summer get-together is a perfect time for s’mores!

Using HERSHEY’S 6-Pack Chocolate Bars, HONEY MAID Honey Grahams, and Jet-Puffed Marshmallows, stock up on s’mores at your local Walmart! All of these ingredients for s'mores were displayed together on an endcap near the baking aisle.

I love when we can go to Walmart to find everything we need in one stop. The supplies needed to make the DIY Mini Fire Pit are also found at Walmart. You'll need a 4.25 inch terra cotta clay pot and saucer. They are very inexpensive and can be found in the garden area. If you don't have some already, you'll also need some foil and charcoal briquettes.

Get ready to make s'mores by preparing a s'more station. We wanted to try making a few different flavors of s'mores, so we added some Jet-Puffed Strawberry Mallows Marshmallows, HERSHEY'S Cookies ‘n’ Creme Bars, and HONEY MAID Chocolate Grahams along with the traditional ingredients. Break both the chocolate bars and the graham crackers in half and arrange them on a tray with the marshmallows in the middle.

Decide where you'll be making s'mores and build your DIY Mini Fire Pit. Put the pot on top of the saucer and place a large ball of foil at the bottom of the pot. Line the rest of the pot with 2 layers of foil all the way to the top edge. Put your tray of s'mores ingredients and roasting sticks nearby for easy access.

Add 5 charcoal briquettes to the pot and use a lighter to carefully ignite the charcoal. If you are having trouble lighting the charcoal, you can add in a few small pieces of newspaper or pour in a small amount of lighter fluid.

There will be a flame at first, which is optimal for quick marshmallow roasting. As the charcoal burns, the flames will die down and you'll essentially have a flameless tabletop mini fire pit. Keep in mind that even though it is flameless, it is still very hot! The outside of the pot can burn your hands and will melt your table surface if you aren't using the terra cotta saucer.

If you have a small group, everyone can sit around the mini fire pit. For larger groups, make a few mini fire pits to put along your table with s'more stations in between.

My husband's favorite is the traditional s'more: a piece of HERSHEY'S Chocolate slowly being melted by a toasty Jet-Puffed Marshmallow and sandwiched between two HONEY MAID Honey Grahams!

Chocolate-Covered Strawberry S'mores are delightful! Place a square of HERSHEY'S Chocolate on the HONEY MAID Honey Grahams. Set the cracker with chocolate near the fire pit while you roast your marshmallow to melt the chocolate a little bit. Toast a Jet-Puffed Strawberry Mallows Marshmallow to perfection and place it on top of the chocolate. Top with a graham cracker, smush it together, and enjoy! We also tried a s'more with chocolate on both sides of the marshmallow. The chocolate melts all over the marshmallow and tastes amazing!

My personal favorite is the Cookies ‘n’ Creme S'more! Toast a Jet-Puffed Strawberry Mallows Marshmallow over the fire and place it on top of HERSHEY'S Cookies ‘n’ Creme. Squish them between the HONEY MAID Chocolate Grahams for a minute to let them melt together. The gooey marshmallow combined with white chocolate-flavored creme and bits of chocolate cookies is a delicious twist on a classic s'more!
