With the holidays coming up, it's time to start thinking about gift ideas that you can share with friends, neighbors, and teachers! These Elf & Santa Claus Gift Boxes with Gift Tags can be cut out with the Cricut Maker and are easy enough for even the kids to assemble! Plus, the boxes are big enough to hold all kinds of holiday goodies.

The boxes are made of paper, so don't be afraid to mix up textures and finishes to make the boxes special. Cricut has a huge variety of paper to choose from, so have fun and get creative!

Supplies:
Cricut Maker machine
Cricut Shimmer Paper - Rich Red, Light Green
Cricut Sparkle Paper - Rose Gold

Tape Runner

When you subscribe to a Cricut Access monthly OR yearly membership plan (that you can cancel anytime), you get instant and unlimited access to the Cricut Image Library of over 30,000 non-licensed images, 1,000 Ready to Make projects, and 370 fonts. Using some of those images and fonts, I put together the Elf and Santa Box Templates and Gift Tags for you so you don't have to do anything but click "Make It"!

Design Space will guide you through the cutting process. One at a time, load the paper onto the mat to cut all of the parts out. Be sure to change the cut settings for the different kinds of paper that you are using! For example the Cricut Sparkle Paper is thicker than the Cricut Cardstock, so they won't cut properly if you don't change the settings.

You'll also need to make sure to load the Cricut Fine Point Pen and Cricut Scoring Stylus into the machine when prompted so that the pieces will get score lines and the tags will get the "to/from" written.

Once all of the pieces are cut, separate them into the Elf and Santa Claus sets. Each one will need a box template, black belt strip, two buttons, belt buckle, and two tag pieces.

Begin to assemble the gift box by folding along all of the score lines. Then use the tape runner to add some double-sided tape to the tab on the left side of the box.

Bring the other end around and line it up with the score line along the tab. Place the tab underneath the edge and press well so that the ends stick together.

Close up the bottom so that the gift box can be filled with all those Christmas goodies! Start by folding up the "U" shaped side. Next, fold in the side pieces and tuck in the ends. Last, fold the top down and press the end into the center.

Close up the top of the box (for now) by lining the top handles together, then poking the tabs through the side slots.

The first piece to add to the box is the belt. Start by folding it along each of the four score lines.

Add a line of tape along the back side of the belt strip. Wrap the belt around the box, lining the folds up with the corners. Press the belt down as you go so that it sticks well.

Add some tape to the back of the white circles. Stick them on above the belt to make buttons!

Last, but not least, stick the belt buckle over the center of the belt. Press it well so that it doesn't pop off!

To assemble the gift tag, add a couple strips of tape to the back of the white cardstock. Lay it on top of the colored piece and line the punch holes up. Press the papers together well, then write the names on your tag with a Cricut Fine Point Pen.

Fill the gift boxes with treats and surprises and close them up. Attach the gift tag with twine, string, or a cute clip. These Elf & Santa Claus Gift Boxes are such a fun and simple gift idea for friends, neighbors, and teachers!
