DIY KitchenAid Decal

I've had this KitchenAid for about 10 years now {holy crap!}. I'm always so jealous of the adorable colors and patterns on newer versions of KitchenAids. So, I decided to make mine cute, too! It's easier than you think, and the costs are slim to none, especially if you're into DIY.

As with any makeover, you *have* to see the before and after:

My mixer isn't anything fancy, but I love it!

Start out by giving the mixer a good cleaning.
You probably should at least wipe it down every couple of years months anyway... unless you're a slacker like me who hasn't cleaned the thing for waaay too long!

Since I'm a sucker for chevron, I put together a chevron pattern on the computer and cut out the vinyl on the Silhouette. This is where it gets fun - create a design that fits your personality! You could even cut out the design with scissors and/or an Xacto knife if you don't have access to a Silhouette or vinyl cutter.

I used turquoise vinyl from My Vinyl Direct

I love how it looks! Can't wait to makeover more of my appliances and accessories!!

**Disclosure: I received the vinyl to review from My Vinyl Direct. All opinions are my own.**

  1. That is awesome! I've always wanted to do something to my mixer...I just haven't committed yet! I'm thinking now that I have my cameo...I just may need to commit.

  2. Love this! I also have a white KitchenAid (a hand-me-down from my mother in law) that's probably around the same age as yours. I love it, but also would like to have a jazzy colored model. There's no way I'm going to replace my current trusty mixer, so I'd love to follow your DIY!! It's great.

  4. Thanks for the reminder to clean my KitchenAid! :) I LOVE the turquoise-such a happy color. I wonder, do you use the mixer more often if it's pretty or would I just want to keep looking at it on my counter??

  9. I've been trying to come up with a design for Rosie (my mixer). Our friend works for a company that does vinyl wrapping and I know he can put something together for me. You've got my gear turning again.

  10. Great idea! The coloured kitchenaids are fun, but I think white is classic and will always match your kitchen décor. I am in the market for a mixer, but am scared to commit to a colour! If I get white, then I can decorate it I choose and then change it up!
