Valentine's Day Crack is a festive treat that combines layers of saltine crackers, toffee, and white chocolate!

Nothing says "I love you" like a batch of Valentine's Day Crack (also known as Saltine Cracker Toffee)! Flowers will wilt, but this irresistible mix of salty crackers, buttery toffee, and white chocolate is a total heart-stealer. It’s the perfect sweet treat for your "Galentines" or your significant other. Just a heads up: it’s so good, you might want to keep the first batch all to yourself!

This Valentine's Day Crack (also known as Saltine Cracker Toffee) is easy and quick to make - and everyone loves it! Here's what you'll need:
(Specific measurements and full recipe instructions are found below)
- saltine crackers - I know it sounds crazy, but trust me. You will need 35-40 crackers to use as the base, which absorbs the delicious toffee for the candy crunch. You could substitute with Ritz crackers, but I like that the saltine squares fit perfectly into the baking sheet.
- butter - I prefer to use salted butter.
- brown sugar - light or dark brown sugar can be used. The dark brown sugar will have a stronger flavor.
- white chocolate chips - You can substitute with almond bark, or use chocolate chips (milk, semi sweet, or dark).
- candy melts - Change the colors up for different holidays, like pink for Valentine’s Day, green for St Patrick’s Day, etc. These can be skipped entirely if you don't want the extra color.
- Valentine candy & sprinkles - small Valentine candies and sprinkles add extra color and fun!

If you've never made toffee before, don't worry! It's so much easier than you'd think.
Combine butter and brown sugar over medium-high heat until it comes to a boil. It's VERY important that you stir the mixture constantly so that it doesn't burn! Once it comes to a boil, let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes.

The toffee mixture will be extremely hot, so CAREFULLY pour it over the saltine crackers and then spread it out evenly with a spatula.
Next, bake the toffee-coated crackers for about 5 minutes to give the crackers some time to absorb the toffee and to bring the toffee up to the "hard-crack" temperature stage. If the toffee doesn't get hot enough, it will be chewy instead of hard.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately top with the white chocolate chips. Let the chips sit for a few minutes, and then spread the melted chocolate out evenly over the surface with a spatula.

While the chocolate is still melty, top with Valentine candies and a generous amount of Valentine sprinkles for a festive touch.
Melt the pink melting wafers in the microwave or a double boiler until smooth. Place the melted wafers into a small piping bag or ziplock bag and snip the corner off. Drizzle it over the top and add more sprinkles.
Let the coating cool completely to room temperature, or refrigerate for it to set quicker.

Once cooled, remove the Valentine Crack from the pan and break it into pieces. You can use a knife to cut it into equal-sized pieces, or break it up by hand.
The Valentine's Day Crack is now ready to serve! Enjoy this delicious treat while watching rom-com movies, arrange the pieces on a plate for your next holiday party, or package pieces up in small bags and gift to friends and family.
