DIY Fall Mini Stacker

I'm so excited for fall to be here - it's one of my favorite seasons!

DIY Fall Mini Stacker at artsyfartsymama.com #fall #falldecor

This project was so simple, and I love how it turned out! The wood comes unfinished, sanded and ready to go! They measure 1.5"x 5, 6, and 7" long, so they are the perfect size and will fit pretty much anywhere. Love that!

To make this Fall Mini Stacker, I used:
Fall Mini Stacker craft kit from FabDecor
{you can buy one unfinished for $4.50 or finished for $9.00}
Anita's Craft Paint in Banana Yellow and Mocha Java
Americana paint in Bright Orange
FolkArt Extreme Glitter paint in Gold

First, I painted them all and gave them all about 2-3 coats to cover the wood grain. Once they were dry, I painted a thick coat of gold Extreme Glitter paint and let dry COMPLETELY. If you don't, they will stick to anything/everything {I'd compare it as if you just Mod Podged something} and will pull all the paint off... Just saying - let it dry.

Once they were dry, I took some sandpaper and sanded all the edges. You could leave it as-is and it still looks great - I just love the distressed look. Then, I lightly wiped off the blocks with a damp paper towel to get rid of any sawdust.

Next, I applied the vinyl to the blocks. Easy, peasy! You can add a layer of Mod Podge to seal the vinyl, but I haven't done it yet. You could also glue the blocks together to prevent them from taking a terrible tumble, but with the glitter paint - they seem to stick together just fine... could be a bad thing for other projects, but a "happy accident" for this one!

**I received the unfinished Fall Mini Stacker Craft Kit from FabDecor.com for this review/project series. All opinions are my own.**

  6. I saw this done with cereal boxes! They sprayed the boxes with adhesive and covered them with fabric. Then painted cute sayings on them. It was adorable and the woman who showed me said that she uses the boxes to store holiday items in when they are in the attic! (She had Halloween ones done and stored wall stickers in them)
