Boredom Busters Jar

When kids complain of boredom, choose a stick from the Boredom Busters Jar!

Now that summer is here, most of us are constantly hearing “I’m boooored!” even though there is so much for kids to do! Send kids to the Boredom Busters Jar (with free printables) when the kids are feeling like there’s nothing to do. I’ve come up with 100 activities (with a few chores thrown in) that is guaranteed to keep them busy.

Boredom Busters Jar Labels on Stick

Attach the chore and activity strips to jumbo craft sticks using a tape runner or glue. Add tape along the backside of the strip and stick it to one end of the craft stick.

Add some tape runner lines to the back of the Boredom Busters label. Attach it to the front of a clean mason jar or bucket.

The jar has been successful at my house so far. If my daughter chooses a chore, I've been pleasantly surprised to see that she hurries to get it done so she can choose another activity. It saves my sanity from trying to come up with something "exciting" for her to do, and it adds a fun surprise for her each day! Since we homeschool, I think we might even use this jar year-round!

  1. This is a brilliant idea. I work at home with two kids (aged 7 and 9) and this will definitely come in handy for us! TFS!
