Valentine's Day projects are so much fun to make. This year, I wanted to help my husband come up with something he can make to share with his coworkers, as well as something special my daughter could make for her teacher. Whether you choose candy or other surprises, these Valentine's Day Treat Boxes are so easy and fun to make for those you love!

To make these adorable treat boxes, you'll need:
Cricut machine (I used the Cricut Maker)
Valentine's Day Treat Box cut file
Cricut 12" x 12" Light Grip Mat
Cricut Cardstock: WhiteCricut Scoring Stylus
Cricut Pens: Black, Jade, Crystal Pink
Double-Sided Tape

Open up the Valentine's Day Treat Box in Design Space and there you can edit the pen colors, paper colors and most importantly - CUT the box design out!

When you subscribe to a Cricut Access monthly OR yearly membership plan (that you can cancel anytime), you get instant and unlimited access to the Cricut Image Library of over 30,000 non-licensed images, 1,000 Ready to Make projects, and 370 fonts. Using some of those available images, I put together the Valentine's Day Treat Box design for you so you don't have to do anything but click "Make It"!

One thing I love about the Cricut Maker is how it easy it is to use. It guides you through the process from start to finish. From choosing your material to cutting, the machine will let you know when to change out tools or to remind you to put the pen in place.

After the cut is finished, carefully remove the box template from the mat. To keep the paper from curling, turn the mat face down, and peel the mat away from the paper instead. The mat will bend away from the paper (instead of the opposite), keeping your box template nice and flat!

Cut a piece of clear cellophane to cover the heart cutout on the front of the box. The cellophane will allow you to see any candy through the cutout, without your candy falling out!

Turn the box template over and add a couple lines of double-sided tape on both sides of the heart. Place the piece of cellophane down over the heart.

Turn the box back over and carefully fold along all of the score lines. Add some double-sided tape to the tab on the left side of the box. Bring both ends together and stick the tab under the opposite side.

Fold in the tabs at the bottom to close the box. Start with the largest "U" shaped tab and fold in the ends of the side tabs. Lastly, fold in the end of the last tab and the bottom of the box will stay closed. The box is surprisingly sturdy, but you can add a piece of tape over the seams if you are worried about it popping open.

Fill the box with your favorite Valentine goodies. To close the box, bring both handles together, and pop the tabs through the "keyhole" in the sides of the box.

Such a "sweet" gift for friends, family, or even a teacher for Valentine's Day! You can write a little note or even throw a gift card into the box for a fun surprise.

By changing the pen colors, you can give the box a bit of a different look. I love the way this Jade pen color looks with the conversation hearts!

After using a black pen with red candies, I added an extra pop of color with some red twine! I love how it turned out and can't wait to crank out a few more for us to share with our friends and family for Valentine's Day!

What is your favorite Valentine's Day candy?
