Custom Newlywed Gift Tote with Cricut

Create multiple gifts and combine them into one in a Custom Newlywed Gift Tote with Cricut!

My baby brother just got married, and I am so excited for him and his new wife! She is totally adorable and I am elated to have her as my new sister. After organizing my craft stash this past month, I noticed just how much vinyl I have in stock and decided to use it in the best way possible.

I've had a couple of ideas in mind for a gift I could give them, and then thought, "why not do them all?" Ergo, the Custom Newlywed Gift Tote which is full of surprises that I think the happy couple will love! With the Cricut Explore, you can make so many different kinds of projects by using vinyl, iron-on vinyl (heat transfer vinyl/HTV), paper and more to create a one-of-a-kind gift in not much time at all.

I found some basic items that would make for a great gift for newlyweds, like pillowcases, a frame, and more. I also grabbed a cute tote bag to put it all in. The great thing about a gift bag like this is you can choose whatever you want and spend as much or as little as you want! The best advice I have is to use your imagination when purchasing items.

DIY "Best Day Ever" Frame - Custom Newlywed Gift Tote

Newlyweds are drowning in photos of their engagement and big day, so I turned an otherwise average frame into a "Best Day Ever" Frame! For this frame, I uploaded my own image into Design Space and cut it out of Adhesive Vinyl in Midnight with the Cricut Explore. I also love that this frame can hold photos from all their special occasions - anniversaries, birthdays, and one day when they have their own kids.

DIY Ring Dish - Custom Newlywed Gift Tote

I customized a glass heart dish with the same Adhesive Vinyl in Midnight with the happy couple's initials to turn it into Ring Dish! This can go in their kitchen or on a nightstand to place rings on when they're taken off. It can certainly be used for other things, but this is what I thought it could be when I picked it out.

DIY Adventure Fund Jar - Custom Newlywed Gift Tote

The hardest part of being a newlywed is having the extra cash to go out and do the things you love to do. My brother and his new wife love the outdoors and living life to the fullest. So, I found this awesome jar and added some white vinyl to turn it into an Adventure Fund Jar! Now they can add their spare change to the jar to put toward future adventures.

DIY His & Hers Glasses - Custom Newlywed Gift Tote

Another creative way to customize glass is to etch it! It's a little trickier than just applying vinyl, but these His & Hers Glasses are a lot of fun to make (watch for a full tutorial on this soon). You can use any kind of adhesive vinyl in any color!

DIY "Wifey Material" Shirt - Custom Newlywed Gift Tote

I also wanted to make something special for my new sister-in-law, so I whipped up this cute "Wifey Material" Shirt for her to wear. I think she will look adorable in it! For this project, I typed up the words in Design Space and cut it out of Glitter Iron-on.

DIY Big & Little Spoon Pillowcases - Custom Newlywed Gift Tote

You can do SO much with iron-on vinyl! I used some black Iron-on Lite Vinyl and red Glitter Iron-on to customize a pair of pillowcases. These Big Spoon, Little Spoon Pillowcases are easy to make. And when you are creating your own with the Cricut Explore, you can add whatever text and images you want!

I also designed "let the adventure begin" and cut it out of some black Iron-on Lite Vinyl to make an Adventure Tote Bag for my brother and his new wife to take on their outings. This also holds all of their gifts so that it won't take up too much room on their wedding gift table!

I am so excited to give them this unique and personalized gift. Creating gift bags for friends and family has never been easier! If you've been looking into getting a machine for yourself, I would definitely recommend a Cricut Explore.
