Free Printable Valentine "Valenslime" Labels

With Valentine's Day coming up, I wanted to share an awesome non-candy Valentine idea that your kids can share with their friends! Everyone will love receiving a "Valenslime" and your kids will have even more fun making it. It's easy to make enough for an entire classroom, so get ready to whip some up to share at your next Valentine party!

Free Printable Valentine Valenslime Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

To get these Valenslimes started, you'll need to make up 3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime in both red and pink colors. Once the slime is done, have your kids separate the slime into smaller pieces and place it in a small container or airtight bag. Top the containers or bags with free printable "Valenslime" labels and those Valenslime Valentines are ready to hand out!

Free Printable Valentine Valenslime Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

I've designed labels in both pink and red versions in two different sizes. One is just under 2 inches for smaller containers (like the 2 oz containers pictured), and the other is just under 2.5 inches which is the perfect size to attach to bags or larger containers.

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

With the snow that has dumped pretty much everywhere this weekend, I've got a great project you can make with the kids! This 3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime is easy enough for everyone to mix up, and it is sure to keep those kids entertained for hours while they're stuck indoors. For you homeschoolers, this makes for a great science project!!

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

Making slime is pretty simple, and my daughter loved helping! To make this sparkly Valentine Slime, all you need is:

Elmer's Glitter Glues (6 oz)
1 teaspoon Borax
Water

*While it looks pretty and is a lot of fun, this slime is NOT edible. Because of that, I don't recommend letting small children play with it. Be sure to wash your hands and work/play space well after playing.

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

First, pour out one bottle of red or pink glitter glue into a mixing bowl. My daughter loved that she was able to squeeze all the glue at once and loved how much glitter the glue had in it! Pour some warm/hot water into the empty glue container, put the lid back on and shake. This will get all the excess glue out of the bottle and is an easy way to measure the water you need. Pour the water into the glue and stir until combined.

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

In a separate cup or bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon of Borax and 1/2 cup of hot water and stir until the Borax is dissolved. Now comes the fun part! Slowly add the Borax/water mixture to the glue and keep stirring with a spoon and you'll see that it almost immediately becomes thick and clumps together.

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

When it gets to that point, it's time to get messy and use your hands to mix it all together. Pull the clumps out and squish them together in your hands. Keep squishing it together with your hands and kneading it like a dough until it's smooth and no longer sticky. Don't worry about any leftover water in the bowl - just pour it out when your slime is done.

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

Now your kids are free to play! Stretch it, squish it, and have fun! The glittery slime is moldable, but won't hold it's shape for long. Squish your hands into it and leave a hand print, or create a shape and watch it melt into a blob. Your kids will be entertained for quite a while.

3-Ingredient Sparkly Valentine Slime at artsyfartsymama.com

For a little more Valentine fun, we added some acrylic heart jewels! It was fun to squish the slime and try to find the hearts. This would be a great activity with kids to practice counting, color matching and more!!

Store your slime in an airtight container or Ziploc bag. It should stay good for quite a while as long as you keep it sealed. I've also heard that keeping it in the fridge will help it stay good longer. Let me know what you think of this slime in the comments or if you make this slime for your kids!

It's a new year, and often times that means most of us are looking to make some changes in our lives, in particular, our diets. But just because you are eating better doesn't mean you have to skip dessert!! Take, for example, these Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Blondies using Jif Peanut Powder. By simply adjusting some ingredients, you can still satisfy your sweet tooth without killing your diet in one bite.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Blondies at artsyfartsymama.com

Since it is is made from just one ingredient - fresh roasted peanuts, Jif Peanut Powder has the same amount of protein as traditional peanut butter, but has 85% less fat and no added sugar or salt. That makes using the powder in smoothies and baking a smarter choice while keeping the peanut butter flavor we all love!

Jif Peanut Powder is easy to find at Walmart in the peanut butter aisle. You can also purchase Jif Chocolate Peanut Powder with semisweet chocolate and a dash of sugar if you're looking for a more chocolate peanut butter flavor.

These Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Blondies are quick and easy to bake and are perfectly chewy with a light, crispy top and just the right amount of peanut butter flavor! 1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup Jif Peanut Powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 1/4 cups flour

DIY Heart Eyes Emoji Shirt

DIY Heart Eyes Emoji Shirt at artsyfartsymama.com

With Valentine's Day quickly on its way, my daughter and I collaborated on ideas for a new shirt for her to wear on the big day. She loves texting her aunts, so one of her suggestions was to put a heart eye emoji on the front of a shirt. How can I say no to that?! With some help from Expressions Vinyl, I think we created something that's #AllTheHeartEyes!!

DIY Heart Eyes Emoji Shirt at artsyfartsymama.com

Download the Heart Eyes Emoji cut file to use with a Cricut Explore machine or other vinyl cutter to create your own shirt. You'll also need yellow, red, and black heat transfer vinyl (HTV), a clean shirt, and an iron. When cutting out HTV, make sure you mirror all the images! The pieces will be ironed on in layers, so take your time for best results.

DIY Heart Eyes Emoji Shirt at artsyfartsymama.com

The first layer of HTV will be the yellow face. I cut mine out with yellow StripFlock HTV for a fun, fuzzy effect and placed it in the center of the shirt. For best results with HTV, press the sticky transfer tape down first to help keep the image in place. Carefully cover with a cloth and get your iron heated up - highest heat and no steam. Place the iron down over the vinyl and apply pressure for 20-30 seconds. Let the vinyl cool, and remove the transfer tape. If for some reason the vinyl doesn't stick to the shirt, cover it with the cloth and iron again.

Next, place the eyes and mouth on the face. The mouth is cut out of black StripFlock HTV, and the eyes are red Glitter HTV (because Valentine projects or anything with hearts are always better with glitter!). If you cut with a vinyl cutting machine, the pieces should fit perfectly. The sticky transfer tape over the vinyl is such a great help in keeping the vinyl in place on projects like this. Cover the face, then place the iron down over the vinyl and apply pressure for 20-30 seconds. Let the vinyl cool, and remove the transfer tape.

Once all the pieces are ironed in place, your shirt is now complete! If this is your first project, trust me when I say that using HTV is quite addicting and you'll be customizing your family's entire wardrobe in no time...

DIY Heart Eyes Emoji Shirt at artsyfartsymama.com

Since the shirt I chose was long sleeved for the cold February weather, I decided to cut out a couple of glittery heart elbow patches out of the same red Glitter HTV as the eyes. To make the patches, I cut the same hearts as the eyes but enlarged them to about 2 1/2" wide, and ironed them onto the back of the elbows on the shirt. I just love that extra sparkly detail!

My daughter can't wait to show off her Valentine's shirt, and I'm kind of glad it can be one that she can wear anytime of year so she gets a lot of wear out of it. If you make and emoji tee for yourself or your family, I would love to see it!! What's your favorite Emoji?
