I'm always looking for more ways to inspire kids to use their imagination and play creatively with LEGO®. Our Challenge Cards have been fantastic way to jump-start my daughter's imagination when she's free-playing and isn't sure what to build. Building with an objective is a helpful tip to getting kids to start building and keep building in the future. We are really excited to share another helpful way to #KeepBuilding in today's post!

LEGO Classic encourages a “no instructions necessary” building experience. The possibilities of open-ended building to inspire endless play. There are ten sets (ranging from $16.99 to $59.99) that make the perfect solution for those wanting to inspire their children to start building, to add to an existing LEGO collection, or to give as a gift. Each set includes classic LEGO bricks, a mix of special pieces and ideas to help you get started.

My daughter has been obsessed with playing Pictionary lately. We're always drawing random objects and guessing all kinds of things. As we were playing with LEGO the other day, something clicked (mentally and physically). We could play something similar using the bricks - Brick-tionary! We have had a lot of fun playing so far. My daughter even helped me come up with objects to add to our printable list to share with you!

Before you get started, dump out the LEGO bin and separate the bricks by color. You need to move a little bit quicker for this game, so having things organized helps a lot to find the pieces you need! Plus, how pretty is this colorfully organized view??

Split into teams if you have a larger group, or play singles if it's just a few. When it's your turn, choose a Brick-tionary card and set it aside. Don't let anyone else see what you picked! Even if it seems a little too hard to build, give it a shot. You may surprise yourself!

Once you have the objective, start building! Your team can start guessing as you build. Get creative and add eyes, lights, and wheels to bring your creation to life.

When your team has guessed your card, your turn is over. This game is more about having fun and building awesome stuff, so we didn't use a timer. You are more than welcome to, though! I would recommend about 2 minutes or so for kids, and maybe just 1 minute for adults.

Just for fun, I wanted to share some of our other Brick-tionary creations. This volcano turned out pretty awesome!

At first, I thought this dog was a lamb, but my 6 year old said it's a poodle. I love how her imagination works.
