DIY Lalaloopsy Jewelry

Have a Lalaloopsy fan in your life? These necklaces are SEW adorable and surprisingly simple to make. My daughter can't wait to show off these latest jewelry creations and I'm excited to share how you can create some Lalaloopsy jewelry for yourself!

To make a Lalaloopsy necklace, you'll obviously need some Lalaloopsies to work with! I found this Lalaloopsy Tinies set including Mittens Fluff 'n' Stuff, her pet Bear, and Bea Spells-a-lot on clearance for about $2 and knew immediately that they would make the perfect charms! It worked out that these characters were also my daughter's favorites, so it was a lucky score! You can find the Lalaloopsy Tinies pretty much anywhere that Lalaloopsies are sold.

The Lalaloopsy Tinies come with a hole already at the top and bottom of each character. I found some eye hooks at Lowe's that fit through the holes perfectly. Other jewelry eye hooks could also work, but since this necklace is going to be tugged at quite a bit, I wanted a bit more strength.

Drop some super glue or another strong glue into the top holes of the Lalaloopsies and carefully push the eye hooks in. Carefully wipe off any excess glue and take a minute to make sure the hooks are facing the right way!! Let the glue dry for a few hours to overnight. Once the glue has set, you are ready to create some jewelry.

For our necklaces, we used a variety of Fizzy Pops chunky beads in different colors to coordinate with the different characters. I love the look of stripes, pearls, and ice cube beads in different sizes and colors on jewelry for little girls. Every necklace you make can have a different look just by changing the kinds of beads you use!

Before I start stringing beads onto wire, I like to lay everything out on some flannel or felt fabric (a jewelry bead board would be optimal, but we don't own one yet). This way, I can decide if I like the necklace pattern and rearrange beads without having to string and unstring the necklace a bunch of times. Since she'll be the one wearing the jewelry, it has been fun to include my daughter in the design process and allow her to help arrange the beads.

Since Mittens Fluff 'n' Stuff's pet Bear was also included in the package, I decided to create a coordinating necklace and bracelet for the adorable pair. We used a mix of ice cube chunky beads, striped beads, gumball beads, faux pearls, and bling beads for both necklace and bracelet. If creating jewelry for younger children, I highly recommend doubling or even tripling the beading wire and/or Stretch Magic elastic cord for more durability!!

We used the same kinds of beads but in a different color scheme for the Bea Spells-a-lot necklace. These necklaces come together quickly and really are quite simple to put together. Visit Fizzy Pops for a great tutorial on how to make chunky necklaces if you need some tips!

One of my favorite parts of the necklace are the adorably sweet Heart Lobster Clasps!! They look so cute with the Lalaloopsy style and are a little larger that regular lobster clasps, which are perfect for little hands!!

It was sew much fun creating these necklaces for my daughter to wear to show off her favorite Lalaloopsy characters! They make a sweet fashion statement, and is a fun gift idea for the little (or big) girls in your life!!
