Free Printable Foil Recipe Cards

I received product in exchange for this post. All opinions shared are 100% my own.

It's getting to be that time of year to cook and bake all kinds of delicious food! I like to go through all of my family's favorite holiday recipes and write them down for my own recipe collection. It's also fun to include my favorite recipes on cute recipe cards to pair with cooking utensils as wedding or Christmas gifts. I've designed a recipe card that can be dressed up a bit by the Minc that will really make your favorite recipes stand out!

There are tons of ways to foil projects, but none are as easy and quick as using the Minc, especially for this project!! If you haven't heard of this yet, the Minc is an incredible crafting tool designed by Heidi Swapp that turns laser printed items (with Minc products or your own custom designs) into a beautifully foiled creation in just seconds. You can see more about the Minc and all it can do in my previous post introducing the Minc!

Of course, to give your projects touches of colorful shimmer, you need foil. You can find reactive foil made just for the Minc in a rainbow of colors! Using sharp scissors, cut a piece of foil in the color of your choice to cover the recipe card.

Open the carrier sheet and place the recipe cards inside face up. Carefully lay the foil pieces over the cards (color side up) and lightly press down and make sure none of the text is uncovered. Carefully lay the top of the carrier sheet down over your project and smooth it out with your hand.

Tip: Sometimes static on the carrier sheet can cause the foil to shift, so just work slowly and try to keep everything in place as best you can.

Place the carrier sheet into the Minc until the rollers grab it to pull it through the machine. Let it run all the way through, then carefully open the carrier sheet. Remove the paper and foil, then slowly peel the foil off the paper starting at one corner. Now your recipe card is foiled and looking gorgeous! It really is as simple as that.

Depending on the colors of foil you choose, your new recipe cards can range from chic to colorful and fun! My recipe book is a lot more fun to look through now, and I can't wait to create more to give away this holiday season. What color(s) would you make your recipe cards?

Easy Halloween Necklace and Headbands

This post is sponsored by Fizzy Pops and Headbands Etc and More. All opinions are my own.

Easy Halloween Necklace at artsyfartsymama.com

My daughter is a girly-girl and loves making and wearing jewelry. I surprised her this month by creating some fun Halloween accessories for her to wear, which included a chunky bubblegum necklace and bracelet and some adorable Halloween headbands made with supplies from Fizzy Pops. Even if you have never tried jewelry making or putting a headband together, I promise you can do this!! It's so easy.

Easy Halloween Necklace at artsyfartsymama.com

To make your jewelry, you'll need:
Beading Wire
Lobster Clasp
Jump Ring
Crimp Beads
*OR use some Stretch Magic elastic cord
Chunky Beads in multiple colors and shapes

*My daughter has been a little rough on her jewelry. So to make it a little more kid-friendly, the elastic cord has been very helpful! To create a necklace using the elastic cord, unravel a length of cord and stretch it out a few times. This will prevent your jewelry from stretching out over time. Thread the beads onto the elastic, then cut the cord when you're finished. Tie the ends into a few square knots. Pull the knots tight, and add a drop of super glue. This will help keep the necklace from coming undone.

If using beading wire to create your jewelry, add the lobster clasp and a crimp bead to the end of the wire. Thread the wire through the lobster clasp then back through the crimp bead and crimp it closed. Start threading your beads onto the wire. When you get to the end, add the small chain and crimp bead and crimp it closed. Now your necklace is finished!

Now, to make some Halloween headbands - Headbands Etc and More has TONS of flowers and elastics in different pattern and color options so you can create a headband for every occasion (and more)!  If you've never made any before, don't worry! They really are easy to make and you'll be addicted to creating hair accessories in no time.

As far as supplies go, you'll need:
Fold Over Elastic in your choice of color/pattern
Felt
Hot Glue/Glue Gun

Cut the elastic to fit around your head (or the child's head), then tie the ends in square knot.

Decide how many roses you want to use, then arrange them how you want them over a piece of felt. Keep the edges close together, and trace around them on the felt. Cut the felt out and set aside.

Easy Halloween Headbands at artsyfartsymama.com

Lay the felt underneath the headband (place on the head if you need to) to figure out placement. Add some hot glue over the felt and headband. Quickly (and carefully) place the roses over the felt and hold until the glue sets.

Easy Halloween Headbands at artsyfartsymama.com

The headbands are finished at this point, but you can add some embellishments for some extra detail if you want. Add gems, or some extra beads from your necklace in the center of the roses (with the bead holes on the sides) with some hot glue.

Easy Halloween Headbands at artsyfartsymama.com

Depending on the colors and patterns you choose in roses and elastic, you can create headbands for every occasion. These headbands are fun to make for both babies and little girls and come together in just a few minutes.

Geometric Heart T-Shirt

This post is sponsored by Cricut and may contain affiliate links. All opinions are my own.

Geometric Heart T-Shirt with Free Cut File at artsyfartsymama.com

I have been crushing on everything gold and geometric lately. I've been using it in our home decor, new accessories, and of course on our clothes! My daughter is a girly girl and anything glam is a must-have, but our wallets don't agree. Finding trendy clothing for kids can add up quick, so we decided to design our own Geometric Heart T-Shirt for her to wear instead! It was so easy to make, and I promise you can do it, too.

Geometric Heart T-Shirt with Free Cut File at artsyfartsymama.com

What you'll need:
T-Shirt, washed and ironed
Geometric Heart Design
Glitter Iron-On Vinyl/Heat Transfer Vinyl
Cricut Explore or other vinyl cutting machine

Geometric Heart T-Shirt with Free Cut File at artsyfartsymama.com

Upload the geometric heart cut file into Design Space and size it to fit your shirt. Mirror the image, then cut the design out on iron-on vinyl by choosing the Iron-On Vinyl option under the custom setting. Make sure the vinyl is face down! Once the design is cut out, weed out the design using the weeding tool.

Geometric Heart T-Shirt with Free Cut File at artsyfartsymama.com

Now the design is ready to be placed on the shirt! The iron-on vinyl has a tacky liner on top of the vinyl so that you can easily place the vinyl on your project and keep it in place!

Geometric Heart T-Shirt with Free Cut File at artsyfartsymama.com
  1. Set your iron to the Cotton/Linen setting with the steam OFF.
  2. Lightly preheat the area with the iron for 10-15 seconds. This really does help!
  3. Place your image, liner side UP onto the area. If you don't place the liner side up, it will stick to your press cloth.
  4. Carefully lay a press cloth or dishtowel over the design.
  5. Apply medium pressure with the iron for 25-30 seconds.
  6. Flip the shirt over and apply medium pressure with the iron to the back for an additional 25-30 seconds.
  7. If you have any parts that didn't stick for some reason or if edges are flipping up, re-iron the pieces or loose edges with the iron tip for 10 seconds.
  8. Let cool and remove liner. If you try to remove the liner before it cools, you risk burning your fingers or peeling the iron-on up.
Geometric Heart T-Shirt with Free Cut File at artsyfartsymama.com

Now the shirt is ready for wearing! The vinyl holds up great in the wash. If your vinyl appears to be coming off at all, you can hold the iron over it again and it should re-stick. I'd love to hear if you make a shirt using this design!

Free Printable MARVEL Super Hero Granola Bar Wrappers at artsyfartsymama.com

Are you a MARVEL fan, or have someone in your family who adores super heroes? Make their lunch or super hero-themed party MARVEL-lous with some MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars paired with my free printable super hero joke wrappers!

We found the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars in both chocolate chip and peanut butter chocolate chip in the cereal/granola bar/toaster pastries aisle at Walmart for only $2.48 per box. It's a real BANG for your buck because they’re also 40% bigger when compared to a normal 24g chewy granola bar. The chewy granola bars keep my daughter full and focused throughout the remainder of the school day and make a great after-school snack!

Each MARVEL Chewy Granola Bar package includes one of four collector cards: Hulk, Iron Man, Hawk Eye, or Spider Man. So far, we have Thor and Hulk, and are working on finding the other two!! We've also been having a lot of fun with the super hero trivia and learning new facts about each MARVEL super hero.

There are 6 different wrappers in each MARVEL Chewy Granola Bar package: Hulk, Spider Man, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man with fun facts about each super hero. For example, did you know that the Hulk can effectively breathe under water??! I sure didn't!! My daughter has been having so much fun telling everyone she knows different things she's learned about each super hero.

The trivia alone is fun enough for adults and children alike, but I wanted to make the granola bars even more fun at lunch time by designing some wrappers for the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars with MARVEL super hero jokes! There are 10 joke wrappers total, and each one has a different joke with the answers on the back. Just cut out the designs, wrap them around the granola bars and tape them together.

I originally designed the wrappers with my daughter's lunch box in mind. She has been making lots of new friends at school this year, and this is a fun way to make lunchtime really SUPER! Now she and her friends can look forward to jokes and trivia while they eat.

These wrappers would also be fun to use as party favors at your next super hero themed party! Add the MARVEL Chewy Granola Bars to goodie bags and watch your guests tell each other jokes and share super hero trivia!

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

With  my daughter back in school, I've had to come up with some new quick and creative snack options. At the end of a busy day of learning, she wants a sweet treat and I would rather that she has something a little more nutritious. So, we compromised and came up with a way for kids to create their own Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Hershey's Ready to Eat Pudding and free printable labels! You can easily put this fun snack together to eat after school or as a surprise in their lunch boxes.

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

To make these Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding snacks, you'll of course need to start with some rich and creamy chocolate pudding. Hershey's Ready to Eat Pudding in both Chocolate and S'mores flavors are my favorite to use for this snack because the real Hershey's cocoa makes for the best chocolatey taste.

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

Next, print out the Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding labels (download link at the end of the post), cut them out, and stick them to the tops of the pudding cups with tape or a bit of glue. The labels are fun for kids, and also include instructions to help you create your dirt pudding!

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

Now, to assemble your Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding! Open up the pudding cup and grab a couple of gummy worms. Next, smash up one chocolate sandwich cookie into fine crumbs by placing the cookie in a baggie and rolling it over with a rolling pin or smack it with something. You could also use a food processor. Don't worry about removing the filling in the cookie (unless you want to). When it's crumbled enough, you won't even be able to see the white frosting anymore!

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

Pour the "dirt" on top of the pudding. You can leave the crumbs right on top, or start by adding a small amount and mix it in, then top it with the remaining crumbs. It's totally up to you!!

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

Carefully push the gummy worms into the "dirt". That's it! Now the Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding is ready to eat! Such a quick snack for parents to throw together, and a fun activity for kids! My daughter has a lot of fun creating and feels so independent putting her worm pudding together all on her own.

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

Adding crushed cookies might sound a little scary to send in a lunch box, but here's a fun way to package the Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding kit without the mess. Add a label to the pudding, and grab a plain, small sandwich bag (with no zipper at the top).

I found some small 1 ounce plastic cups at the store, and then I poured the cookie crumbs into the cup. If you can't find any cups, no problem! You can simply pour the crumbs right into the baggie. With all the crumbs in one corner of the bag, twist the bag and close with a twist tie*. Add the gummy worms into the bag above the twist tie, and then close the baggie again with another twist tie.

*If you don't have twist ties at home, you can easily make your own! Get some thin, bendable wire and cut a piece about 4 inches long. Place the wire in the center of some washi tape (on the sticky side), then fold the washi tape together lengthwise. Now you have twist ties with a fun washi tape design!!

Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding with Free Printable Labels at artsyfartsymama.com

Now your Wiggle Worm Dirt Pudding ingredients are sealed and portable! Kids can easily create their snack at lunchtime without making a huge mess.

You can find the Hershey's Ready to Eat Pudding in both Chocolate and S'mores flavors in 4 count packages at WalMart in the dairy section for only $2.48 each.
