Easy Pom Pom Valentine Wreath

Easy Pom Pom Valentine Wreath Tutorial at artsyfartsymama.com #ValentinesDay

Valentine wreaths are so much fun to make, and look adorable! This Valentine Pom Pom Wreath is SO simple to make, and you can get all the supplies for less than $10 (even more savings if you already have a wreath form)!!

First, you need a heart wreath form (a circle one would look cute, too!), pom poms, and a glue gun. I found packages of pink, red, and white pom poms at the dollar store. I ended up using about 3 packages to cover the entire wreath.

Pick a starting point. I started at the middle top, but you can start on the front or bottom. Whatever works for you! Then, I glued the poms on in a pink, white, red pattern and repeated it all the way around the wreath. You can create a color pattern, or place the poms randomly. Whatever you choose to do will really be cute!!

Once the outer edge is done, start right below, and repeat the pattern. Keep filling the wreath with poms until it's covered. I made about 5 lines of pom poms, and didn't put any on the back.

Add a loop to the back, and the wreath part is done!! I love, love, love how this turned out!!

You can leave your wreath as is, but I just felt that mine needed a little something extra.

I found a cute wooden banner piece that fit beautifully on the front of my wreath, and cut out the word "love" out of adhesive vinyl on my Cricut Explore.

Then, I sprayed the banner piece with gold metallic spray paint and let dry. Once it was dry, I applied the vinyl to the center of the banner.

If you know anything about me, you know that I can't resist adding a bit of sparkle to almost everything I create!! Same goes for this "love" banner!! Mix a bit of Mod Podge and fine gold glitter in a disposable cup. With a small paint brush, cover the entire banner, but do your best to not cover the vinyl. If you do get some on there, you can use a damp q-tip or your fingernail to remove the glitter from the vinyl.

Let the Mod Podge dry completely, and decide if you need more sparkle. If so, just add another coat and repeat until you get the desired sparkly-ness! I painted about three coats.

*Instead of applying the vinyl first then adding glitter, you CAN put the glitter on first and apply the vinyl over top when it's dry. I've had success both ways. However, sometimes the vinyl will look bumpy when placed over the glitter.

Once the banner is dry, lay it on your wreath and decide where you want it to be placed. Once you've decided, add a drop of glue to each side of the wreath and press the banner on top. Hold for a minute or so until the glue is set. The banner should be light enough that it will hold wonderfully.

Now your wreath is finished! If hanging your wreath on your door, I personally love the magnetic wreath hangers. Otherwise, Command Strip hangers have been great for indoor use on walls and wooden doors.

  2. What a great idea to make a pom pom wreath. It looks so soft. :) And of course, the gold glitter makes it shine! Pinning!
