DIY Magnetic Advent Calendar

Even though we're a few days past the 25 days until Christmas, there is still time to put together an advent calendar! This is probably one of my favorite pieces of Christmas decor. I first saw the idea at Twig & Thistle and couldn't wait to make one for my own home.

Supplies:
25 2" Favor Tins {Available at JoAnn's}
Magnets
Advent Calendar Numbers
Scissors or 2" Circle Punch
E6000 Glue
Treats or Prizes

First, I designed the circle designs to go inside the favor tin lids. The lids have a thin piece of transparent plastic so you can add a sticker on top, or a piece of paper behind. Designing the circles took the most time of this project. I used multiple fonts and mixed thing up by using the words of numbers and adding in lines. All the backgrounds are different color glitter images.

Once the number circles were done, I printed them out on cardstock and cut them out. It would have been much easier to use a 2 inch punch, but I unfortunately don't own one. Then, I just put the circles on the inside of the lids. Easy, peasy!

Next, I glued the magnets on the bottom of all the tins using E6000 adhesive. Love that stuff!
Let sit for a few hours until completely dry.

Add a treat, holiday activity {written on a piece of paper}, or some kind of prize to each tin. Then arrange all the tins to a magnet board {I used my Makeup Magnet Board} or refrigerator and enjoy your countdown to Christmas!

If you don't have the time or don't feel like making one of these, I also shared my printable Christmas Countdown that's simple, inexpensive and quick!
